Sensitivity of the throttle from stop

Just got my 06 TL.

I'm noticing that the amount of pressure on the throttle it takes to leave from a dead stop is not sensitive enough. I press lightly not much happens, I press a little harder and it lurches forward.

I'd like it a bit smoother for everyday commuting. (It works fine if I just want to gun it from a dead stop, but i'm not always in that mode).

Anyone else notice this? Any adjustments that can be made?? Thought I'd check here before calling the dealer...

It's an adaptive ECU with an electronic throttle, which means that the car should adapt to your normal driving style and throttle inputs over a few days of driving.
Give it a week and see if your issue with the throttle subsides; then see the dealer if it doesn't.

Congrats and welcome to the forum, too!

Think it has a lot to do with the Drive By Wire system. It's not as responsive as a throttle cable.

So the fact that I gunned it out of the dealer's lot after pickup didn't help me?

But it felt great to do, right??....

I think the ECU sets the throttle for more acceleration on less throttle pressure from the factory. At least that's my belief based on my then-new TL unintentionally hitting 90 mph getting onto the freeway driving it home from the dealer!

The TL adapted to my normal granny driving style after a few days. I can't tell the difference between the mechanical throttle of my other vehicles and the TL's electronic drive-by-wire throttle now, and I drive with a light foot.

Hey, any of you guys ever own or drive a BMW 330ci ?? I did, and the similarity was immediate upon my first test drive. Very similar in style, cabin layout and size, comfort, suspension, etc. The Beemer had extremely responsive steering, the Acura is not quite there, but close ...

And then there's the price tag, well, we know where Acura and BMW stand there
