Security System Disable?

I want to store my 2004 TL at a second home for the next 60 days. I would like to disable the security system to prevent an unwanted or accidental alarm from disrupting the neighbors. I will not be there to turn off such an accidental alarm.

I can't find any reference to this option in the owner's manual. The feature of temporarily disabling the alarm system was previously available to me from previous ownership of other makes.

I guess the eventual solution is disconnecting the battery and manually locking the car.

Advice is most welcome.

well to be honost . dont know of suck thing. i mean the system is not really sensitive, and most likely will not goo off. but i se where ur coming from. where my house is in mahopac if ur alarm goes off ur an a$$hole..lol...but disconnecting the batt is not a bad aidea as long as u have the codes for the radio and nav(if u have nav). the only thing is u will be reseting the car. i would prolly leave it becouse of it not being so sensitive and only will go off if the car has been really tampered with.(doors being opened)

If it's sitting for sixty days, you should disconnect the battery anyway, alarm or not. But as 06 said, it's not going to go off unless someone opens the doors. At that point, you would want it to go off.

If it's going to sit for a really long time your battery will probably die and you're better off disconnecting it. However, the only time i have ever seen mine go off is when I had the car locked with the windows down and I reached inside and unlocked the door with my hand. Compared to most cars, the TL's alarm is not that sensitive.
