Security Relock Timer

Hi everyone,

does this sercurity relock timer feature in "Keyless memory setting" suppose to relock the car after whatever seconds you set it to? Well I think this feature was working fine before installing new memory seat controller, now today I decided to test this feature. My current settings are set to 30seconds to relock, interior lights are set to 15secs and headlights are to 15secs too. Well interior lights and headlights worked fine as usual, but car didnt relock after 30 seconds....?

plz let me know so I can take it back to the dealer.

btw seats never lost memory after the new controller was installed.

thanx alot!

If you use your remote to open, this Security Relock Timer is only working while you're not getting in. For example, if you set 30 seconds to relock, your door will only re-lock when you remote it opened and do not enter your car in 30 seconds.

This feature will not automatically lock your door for you in other situations.

But the point rets is making is VERY important. Some people have misinterpreted the owner's manual and wrongly assumed their TL would lock itself if they forgot to. Not so. The relock feature, I think, is mostly to cover situations where someone's keyfob is in a pocket and gets accidentally pressed without the owner even knowing it. It would suck to have your car unlocked that way, so it relocks for you. But it's worth repeating for newbies that getting into or out of the car and then leaving it unlocked means it stays unlocked.
