Seatbelt mounting points

I noticed that on my TL the seatbelt on the driver side is fixed to the floor but on the passenger side it is attached to the seat. I'm talking about the lower outer point (as opposed to the buckle or shoulder mount) why is that?

I thought the airbags were symetrical.

Anyways I found it odd that it was different, I saw it on cars mounted one way OR the other, but not it be different from passenger to driver side.

Also isn't the airbag sensor a g-force meter box under the car? I wouldn't expect it to be tiny impactsensors around the chair

the seats have occupant position detection - to know if child in seat or if your buddy is laying against window or reclined--that would injure them if bags deployed
No they dont match left seat to right
-
gen2 pass seat only gets butt heat due to occupant position sensor- while driver gets butt and low back heat--is gen3 the same?
Safety- what a pita
