Seat memory lights

Have you guys ever watched the seat memory LED "1" or "2" (whichever you are current using) as you shift gears?

The light goes off only when shifting to reverse, and then back on again in any other gear (including park and neutral).

Is this part of our memory retention problems?

No, this is because the manual clearly states you cannot make adjustments to the memory seats while you are driving. They can only be made in park or neutral...just an Acura saftey feature...oh and don't eat that little packet in your vitamin jar.

so could you be on the freeway, drop it into neutral and press the other fob and have everything start switching around?

what part of "any other gear" did you not get?

I'll spell it out for you:

1. the light goes out in reverse.
2. it is on in park, neutral, drive, and low.

I know what the manual says about not adjusting when driving. I was just talking about the lights, and the go OFF in reverse, but stay ON in DRIVE AND PARK.

Isn't the only way to operate Seat Memory in the "P" position?

Okay, here is what I have figured out about the memory seats.
1. You can “set” the memory in every gear except reverse. but you cannot change the position of the seats by pressing a memory button unless you are in park
2. The light tells you which memory button was last pressed, or, if you used the key fob to open the door, and it is linked, the light will show which memory button it is adjusted to.
3. If you get in the car and the light is lit, and you make any kind of manual adjustment to the seat, the light will go out, and neither light will be lit. This tells you that the seat is not set for either memory position. It took me a while to figure this out because I thought my seats lost their memory, but it was just because I had moved the seat. Have the car almost two weeks and so far I have not lost the memory, knock on wood.

everything he said and the fact that when you put the car in reverse the rear view mirrors dip so you have just modified the preset perams. If you were to reverse fast enuff the mirror will return to its preset position and the light will come back on.

Unless, of course, you've got the mirror select switch in the center position in which case neither mirror dips.

The light only goes out in reverse if the mirror select switch is not in the center position; if it is in the center position the light stays on no matter what gear you are in.

Thumbs up

I think this thread has very well explanation about how Memory Seat works with your 04TL, especially parts of Ron A, acur8ly, and svtmike.

As you guys addressed above, the message/detail below was not working... Of course... So, I didn't learn anything new yet...
