Thumbs down Scrape!!!

I keep scraping the front of my car. I've got scratches under the front bumper and I keep scraping that black plastic flap that sticks out under the car. Is there any way to replace that black flap? mine looks very worn ever for an 11k mile car.
Also i was think of adding the a spec front lip to hide the scratches under the front bumper or atleast protect it. I think its cheaper to replace the lip than it is the whole bumper. Any ideas?

The piece of hard plastic underneath isn't really worth replacing. I got some scrapes on mine even though I was really careful when entering my driveway (there was originally a 1.5" drop off onto the street from the driveway apron to the street (until it was re-paved), so I frequently scraped. Get an A-spec front lip- it's easy to install (~ 1-2 hrs.) and it costs $250 (painted). Plus, I did mine without the rest of the kit (sides and rear), and it looks really good. Just be really careful when entering driveways (I always enter on a hard angle to avoid scraping).

The "piece of black plastic" performs a necessary function and should be replaced if broken or removed.

The TL engine is a bottom breather and that piece directs air up to the engine. Without it you will get less cooling air directed to the engine and could overheat or suffer a loss of performance.

It's #29 in the picture below, and is under $10 at your dealer.

It's also in the 3G Garage

If you're already scraping the bottom of your bumper....are you sure you want to lower it even more with the front lip? yea it doesn't lower it that much but then the lip will just get scraped...try using mild rubbing compound an and around the scratches and then wax and buff and see how it looks first
