another Scion drivers thread... hitting the throttle real quick and normally puts them in their place, tho... but I haven't noticed many recently... I think they've started calming down now that they've realized that everyone and their mother realizes it's a slow car... on a side note- I think you guys may find this funny... a friend of mine knows someone with a Turbocharged TC with about $10-15 thousand in mods still only puts out about 225 (i.e., less than my car... I thought it was funny when he first told me 
)

Well a 225whp Scion should be good for low 13s. The Scion isn't a fast car stock, there motor is garbage with 160hp at the crank, and I don't know why they don't use the Celica motor. My friend did a 15.9 quarter mile with the Scion stock M/T, and the funny thing is I took him out with my Acura MDX with intake.
But anyway a turbo scion with a good tune will do low 13s, I've seen a couple at Englishtown last weekend and I was impressed. Another did mid 14s, and sounded stock, I had no clue what he had done to it.

I think the scion my friend was talking about was 225 at the crank, not the wheels... huge difference ... he's still forked over almost $20k on mods since he bought the car, most of which has gone into the engine... I was laughing more at him and the stock scion drivers who think they're fast than people who actually turn the car into something worthwhile

haha... that's what I was thinking... either a new TL, or at least SOMETHING faster... haha... I don't think it was quite $20k and that includes interior mods (stereo and I dunno what else), but it's still way too much money to spend without making the car very fast

i take back what i said earlier... i was at a place called jotech getting an AEM CAI installed and they had one that had 500+ hp.... I'm going to go see it race in late march. A new turbo kit came out for it that puts 255 hp to the wheel. Then there's all sorts of other mods after that. I can give yall the name of the kit and a link if yall like.

wow TC are very annoying. the drivers are even worse. funny story about this korean kid i raced w/ my 03 TL. race him with his stock parts and of course i destroyed him. we pull in a parking lot and talk he tells me next week w/ his mods he'll beat me. Loud Megan exhaust (crap brand), DC headers, CAI, Springs. not bad for a weeks work. race again....Results didn't change. sigh ricers.

Haha...yeah this kid was tailgating me on the freeway like 4 days ago. He looked like his g/f was on the passenger side. Eventually he did fly by, but I let him go...wasn't in the mode (was having a bad day). Funny thing was that b/c of traffic, I would pass him a couple times and he would do the same thing again...lol. Reminds me of a time this kid in a civic with what appeared to be his g/f on the passenger side fly by me. That day I actually had a 06 TL loaner. Needless to say, at the end the g/f wish she was in my car...or loaner...lol.

I Blew the doors off of this tc last weekend, I could'nt help it. Like you guys said, he did the ricer fly by at a speed of at least 70. He had a CF hood and trunk a loud ass exhaust that made a spitting sound and I was like you know what let me just put him in his place. We were on the triborough on the way to manhattan and I did about 90 and glanced at him as I pulled away just leaving him in the dust, it felt good but I felt like I had sunken down to his level afterwards. It felt like I had raced a geo metro or something, So you live and you learn. But yea, 20k in mods on a tc com'on that's a joke he could've bought an evo or something.

haha.. wow.. as much as i don't like scions... this one guywith a Scion tC walked up to my friend last time when he drove his 3000GT VR-4(TT)... My friend was all stock @ the time and we asked what he had in his tC.. all he said was that it was "interfooled".. funny.......... but anyways, we then went to the highway and rolled on 40... my friend had a jump but the boosted tC was slowly walking him. they cut it off @ about 100'ish and ran again on 40... same result.. Idk... maybe it's because I don't have a TL... i really do want one....
but I do like the scion tc. I mean it has more potential than the toyota camary. Granted the new camary looks sweet. But the 4 cylinder camary has the same power as the tc but weighs more. Same with the 4 cylinder accord... except i like the accords so i will always take one over the tc.
Why does scion ruin themselves with their commercials? I mean they take the jellybean (xA) and completely ruined it for their commercial. I went from hey.... thats a nice looking car. I could get one as a car for college to.... Omfg what the hell did they do to it.

Not all Scion drivers are annoying? My gf has a 07 tC and it actually handles really nicely on curvy roads. She drives slow as heck in her car and people always tail gate her for some reason. Sometime we switch car since I wash both cars and I would see people trying to race with me. It's really not that bad of a car, just a little slow. But compare it to my 03 civic, it's a upgrade. We baby the tC, so no annoying ricer drive by over here! hehe...unless I'm in my tl, then maybe~

haha me and my friend made a video like a year ago doing a drive-by through a scion meet making fun of them and stuff....they found the video online and started making threats etc. etc. saying they were going to come to our school (one of us was wearing a football jersey i think) and beat us up LOL we looked THEM up online and the people who made the threats were part of this "scion only" crew and when we saw their group pic on myspace...LOL!! lets just say the biggest one in that group was a 5'6" skinny pale redhead!

I hate them as well. Every time i drive by one they think they are the shit, and own the road. They are not fast at all. One of my old high school friends had one, and she gave me a ride in it and I wasnt impressed at all. I thought the pioneer stereo was supposed to sound really nice, but it didnt sound much better than the stock honda stereo I have in my Accord. Maybe she didnt have it set very good.
