I had a chance to go up to the 1/4 track with a couple of friends, one of which has an '06 S4. We had some fun on the way to the track...

BTW - my best 1/4 mile time was about 14.3x at just over 104. My 60 ft times sucked. I wasn't willing to launch the car too hard in fear of breaking something.

I would think you would be able to pull low to mid 13's with the blower on.

 

I was too! I pulled on him on a couple earlier runs and couldn't believe that 3rd one was so close which is why I kept going. That V8 is a beast! And he's stock too...unless you count the K&N filter.

I think it was more of the launch than anything. The 60' time on that run was 2.521. I don't know what the elevation was.

 

Launch definitely had a lot to do with it. However, I'd suspect you'd trap more than 104mph easily. I trapped 101 with just I/E as well as many other people. I'd hate to think S/C only gained 3mph...

 

Man! Why can't we have any local SC TL's? Or turbo TL's? I would love to play with one for sure!

I guess you could say I'm in between a S4 and a C6 performance wise.. to be honest the only vettes I can beat would be stock 2000 or below vettes aside from a few special addition vettes.. linkenfeltor(I'm on my phone and to lazy to look up the spelling but u get the point.)

 

Nah a minor bolton CTS-V of that year should be a 103-108 trap car (depending on boltons.... big gains) and certainly within reach of competing with a S/C TL. I'd certainly like to line up with either of them, but haven't ran into any S/C TLs or CTS-Vs around here. Although with that tune his CTS could be very fast... I've saw 385whp dynos out of filter/exhaust+ tune CTS-Vs just from a google search.

It was just a rough night at the track for apnorm, although those S4s tend to be low 14/high 13 cars.

Also, yes those B8 S4s usually run low 14s or high 13s @ what, 104ish? R&T got the new S4 to go 12.9 @108.9!!!

Good runs either way. I definitely would've thought you would trap much higher than 104...but with a better 60' you'd be deep into the 13s. I bet it's hard to launch with all that power!

Good runs man! I love your camera setup .. everything is so clean and the sound is good.

 

The normal for stock is around 108mph but I've seen it range in stock for between 104 to 113 with the 113 running a 12.6 which is not the norm..

 

I hear you. Wish I could run with you just to see how bad I would get killed. I test drove one a couple of years ago and it was easily the fastest car I've ever driven! So impressive when you floor it at 80 and it pins you back into the seat.

I'm too chicken sh!t to launch it hard and maybe break something so I've accepted that I may never be able to break 14...for now. Not to mention that it spins like crazy going down the strip. My buddy's S4 got 13.9x and I think he trapped around 102. This was with a 1.9 60'. On his last run, he got a 1.7 60' but he screwed up the 2nd to 3rd shift!

I'm thinking the S4 > 550i even though the numbers don't support it...550i is lighter and has more power (hp and torque). I play with the 550i all the time and never had a run like that last one with the S4. (BTW - PM'd)
