No difference at all except the name. There's a thread here somewhere in which a guy put an '07 A-spec lip and mirrors on his '04...couldn't tell it was a "different" silver.

I've heard that SSM has a bit more blue to it. Side by side pics would be awesome. Anyone?

Yeah I think there is a difference. I personally like the ssm better (maybe bc I own one). But I bought bumper plugs off a member and they look slightly off, so they might be alabaster silver actually..

This is correct. SSM, has a blueish tone to it, ASM doesn't, it's more of a pure silver color.

A friend of mine has a ASM, I have the SSM. You probably cannot tell the difference in pictures but in the sun it is obvious.

Incorrect. These are 2 different colors with different formulas. The colors are just similar, not identical.

If you have an eye for color, the difference is clear.

like someone already said, the ssm have like a silver with a hint of blueish metallic/pearls and the asm metallic/pearls are more like silver with a hint of gold. Under a shade my car and the 07 of one of my friends look the same, but when the sun hit both cars you can clearly see the difference.

Yes there is a difference, but a SLIGHT difference. From 10 feet away to the naked eye you can't tell, but if you were a few inches away you could prolly tell a difference. But overall it shouldn't be too bad at all.

There is a difference that you will be able to notice if you try to look for it. SSM has a blue tint to it, ASM is more pure silver with less of a blue tone. If you have the factory paint on the bumper, the difference won't be that bad since the A-Spec kit for SSM won't match the bumper anyway since the bumper doesn't match the car completely.

My turn?? OK

Satin has more of a blu-ish hue while Alabaster doesn't. With an overcast, you can't tell the difference but on a sunny day, they're like night and day.

Did I meet the thread's "use different words to say the exact same" requirement...HA

Really even the SSM A-Spec Kit don't match the original SSM color from the car?

I feel like the depth and gloss of the colors is different too. At night SSM looks almost flat...hence the "satin" silver metallic name.
