Hi All

I have a question? I have a 05 silver TL. I plan to get the Quad Xlr8 exhaust. The Type S lip come with painted on the Alabaster Silver. But the O5 TL come with Satin Silver. Are there a big different for these 2 colors? Becuase I don't want the car look wierd if the 2 color don't match

Can some one please help me

Yes there is a difference. I have a 05 SSM TL and the SSM is a hint of light blue at times...the AAS looks more like a clearer Silver with a hint of white. I just bought 07-mirrors AAS and I had to repaint them because you could notice the color difference at times.

I was thinking about doing the same exhaugst mod too. If you keep your 05 Bumper you will have to do some cutting to get the Type S A-spec lip to fit the 05 after you repaint it. There are some threads showing you how to do so.

 

I have the Type-S aspec rear on my SSM. While there is a slight color difference it is not really noticable. I am currently selling my car and I had to point that out to a few buyers as they didn't realize it.

It may bother you if you are truley anal, but it is no worse than what WDP owners have to deal with on their color matched bumpers.

As said above, the SSM does have a slight blue undertone to it.

ASM is a pure silver, and has more of platinum undertone.

Yup, sold with everything as is. I needed to lower my debt to get a new investment property. I was told that if I have a car note it has to be below $225 a month, so I'm opting for a lease. I'm looking at 2009 Toyota Tacoma's right now. This will have to do for 3 years and then I will be, more than ready to go big!!

 

lucky bastard who got your car. Should have parted stuff out in BM tho. Unless you sold to family? Tacoma is an awesome truck. I am actually thinking of getting one next year as my winter car, and to haul my bike around (when I get it).

 

It was a local buyer, sold for the right price. I just couldn't stomach taking all that stuff off. It would have taken too much time and probably make me sick to my stomach.

 

i have an 05 SSM too and i bought the type s lip spoiler for the trunk in ASM and i had to get it repainted because it was too dark compared to the SSM on the trunk...it stood out alot in the daytime.

 

the AZ member draztic101 has the type-s rear body kit and it blends in perfectly, i didnt notice much of a differnce between the asm and ssm kit.
