Saris Bones Installation Question

Hey guys,

I went out and purchased a Saris Bones Trunk Mounted Bike Rack for my 06 TL, it's the two bike model. When I was trying to hook it up, I kinda ran into a problem. Where do I hook the lower hook anchors too? I was trying to hook it up at the bottom edge of the trunk, but there definitely is not enough clearance.. do I have to hook it up inside the trunk then run it through? Any help would be appreciated

The lower anchors are supposed to connect to the bottom of the trunk lid (right where the trunk meets the bumper).

Okay.. I guess I can try to muscle the anchors into there, it just didn't seem like there was alot of clearance

attach the bike rack with the trunk open tighten everything by hand if you do it correctly you can close the trunk then put the bikes on and tighten more.

I am an avid cyclist and have another option. I purchased a 11/4" hitch from Hidden Hitch and bought a 2 bike rack from Hollywood Racks. It took me about an hour to install the hitch and you can barely see it. The only problem is you have to drill two holes in the trunk pan. Nothing touches your car and the rack takes 30 seconds to plug in. You can lock the rack to the hitch and open your trunk with the bikes attached. I have had this set up for 3 years now and made many long trips with no problems. Just my Total cost was about 250 bucks.
