Bug & tar remover works. If you don't have that try WD-40. it works too

Lot of lubrication and clay bar is your best bet.

Use a clean dish towel and run it under hot water until you can barely hold onto it any longer and then cover the spot where the sap is. Allow the heat to break down the sap and loosen it up. This works ten times better than bug and tar remover and is safer. Don't try to rub it off, just let the heat do all the work and it should wipe off after a few wipes. Apply a couple of coats of wax afterwards.

Good luck.

WD40 or mineral spirits - I have had luck with Stoner's Xenit as well.
