Safest $20 mod

Thought I should share this. It is very simple, two screws and you could save your car, or another person's car, or someone's life!

Here is the link to the fire extinguisher -

I like the way it looks too, yes it is just a fire extinguisher, but its kinda neat.
And you just never know...

Comes with a mounting bracket, but no screws. I just used either half or maybe it was three quarter inch screws. Its not too heavy (3-4 pounds) and it seems to be holding well.

Not a bad idea and you might as well throw a first aid kit in there as well. My niece had her car catch fire on the freeway while she was driving to school. I think it was a 2003 Camry. By the time the fire truck got there the whole engine bay was up in flames.

Definitely a good idea. How does it go...an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure?

Yup. All cars that I know of have a firewall between the engine and the driver, but no firewall lasts forever!

Its scary. What if that car was wrapped around a pole and you saw someone inside? Time to go into hero mode!

Not a bad idea, but I wonder about temperature extremes? Nothing in the link about temperature range that I saw...

I definitely will. It does have a 6 year warranty too.

Thatd be interesting!

But thanks. Im actually building a first aid kit up right now and will be putting it somewhere in the trunk along with jumper cables.
Be prepared!!

my wifes bmw has a first aid kit made for the car that fits in a compartment under the passenger seat it also has a glove box light that you can pull out and use as a flashlight a basic tool box that fits in the trunk lid and a compartment in the trunk that has a safety triangle and a box of spare bulbs and fuses.

but i keep a first aid kit, a reflective vest, portable jumpstarter/air compressor, a collapseable safety cone, and fix a flat.

i would suggest a jump starter instead of the cables so you dont need another car they even have small ones you can jump you car from the inside using the cigarette lighter.

One of the Amazon reviews said that the canister states it can be stored in temps up to 170 degrees F, making it perfect for the car or outdoor storage!

Didn't see anything about the other extreme, though...

Up here in the land of 10,000 lakes it's good to keep one of these handy. It's surprising how many ppl accidentally end up in lakes.. on the other hand it's not too surprising considering lakes and ponds are literally everywhere. just a few weeks ago 6 or 7 teenagers tragically lost their lives when their SUV overturned in a lake.
