s60 T5 or TL? Why?

I'm still looking and one of my friends suggested a volvo s60 T5. What are your thoughts on that. I tried doing a search but couldn't find any info on it.

Basically, what are the ads and disads of the TL over the s60 T5. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks for your help

A turbo 5 cylinder? What is up with that?
I am not fond of turbo motors, lots of heat, synthetic oil needed, cool down after a drive (or turbo cokes the oil), and volvo's have had a poor reliability rating of late. The price is usualy high for what you get, they look nice and have real comfortable seats I hear.

Lots of heat? Turbos run off exhaust gases, of course there's heat. You don't need synthetic oil, but each manufacturer will suggest the oil that you should use. I ran plain old castrol 10W30 in 2 of my turbo cars and both ran well over 100k miles w/o problems. I do run synthetic in my Supra however, but that's an entirely different story (600+rwhp). The cooling down part I agree with as it does become a hassle. It comes down to the buyer's preference. I think turbo cars are great; you can get a good bump in performance for a little extra money w/o compromising reliability, turbo motors are effecient and there is also that "sensation" when the boost comes on and propels you forward that N/A cars just don't provide.

I haven't been in a new Volvo S60, but the interior of the TL is pretty much untouchable w/ similar cars in it's price range. Did you go to the dealer and test drive the Volvo yet?

Fuck that if you want a Volvo...get an "R" and my parents have had about 4 Volvos never any problems as long as you follow the schedule to the "tee". The latest is a 03' S80 T6, no problems yet

Agreed on the R, at least it will be a headstart on the performance DIY stuff.

Plus the S60R is AWD which adds a little bonus too.

The S60R is priced well above the TL though - at least when I was cross-shopping them. I loved the S60R drove but the interior of the TL won me over along with the reduced price.
