S550 vs 335

Friend was in the car a black 335 pulls up auto i believe (coupe) we look at eachother and once the light turns green we gun it. (IM IN MY DADS S.) WE both punch it and from 0 - 90 (its late ate night in a very deserted street) I ended winning but the end of his hood was basically like where my hood began very close... I want also in comfort mode and I didn't smash on the little trigger (under the pedal german cars have these well most do) soooo if my friend wasn't in the car I think I would've pulled more and my friend weigh 250..

Wait till twin335 comes, he'll bring his rage and anger saying that the 335 wasn't racing, you luckily won, or some bullshit. Nice run though.

I have no doubt about this race. We used to have an S550 come out to run with us last year and man, was that thing fast! Good kill.

~Cheers~

I call BS. The 335 can not be beaten... lol. Good kill and nice car. Your dad has an E63? That's awesome.

My friend always seems to have a new CL Mercedes. We took the CL600 to the track with the dealer tags still on and only got one pass but it was a 12.8@110mph. He had a Brabus T-12 CL65 for a short while with 704hp. That thing was amazing for a 5,000lb luxury car. I remember flooring it at 55mph and the traction warning light would flash. Ran a Kenne-Bell supercharged Cobra and beat it pretty good. It wouldn't beat a 335 though.

So you're calling the OP a liar even though you weren't there and you have never raced "your" 335 against an S550? This just gets better and better... Are you sure you and the Scion fag aren't one and the same? I've got an idea. Since you know every spec and what a car "should" do on paper, we should not waste our time racing and use ricer math to figure out the victor. Sure would save a lot of gas.

Please, do me one favor... Just one. Take "your" 335 to a dragstrip so you can see first hand where "your" 335 rates in the grand scheme of things.

jjaber: is that the only thing you can come up with? its getting old and it has been discussed countless time. The fact is I got the car and I get to do whatever I want. Because its mine. You can say whatever you want. I don't have to prove anything to you. Since your 19. You must be basing the facts on your personal life. enough said.

I hate cars: I am not saying he is a liar. I am just telling you the facts. I can race my e550 vs my 335i and record it for proof. If anyone wants me to. I know the spec of these 2 cars is because I have both in my garage ATM. Thanks.

Dont be mad cuss u can't own a E63 at the age of 17.. Dam twinturbo you can race youe E500 and your 335 at the same time u must be skilled man. Im telling you what happend. I broke the cars engine in well maybe you don't know how to break in an engine and your E550 is slower than my moms S550.

Twintrubo you got me I have no life I just make up racing stories.. I beat a new M3 with my S550 and Bugatti ..

For the sake of the OP, lets not get this thread locked. In the old days when my car ran 12.9 I would go up against people that on paper should have killed me such as a Viper GTS and an R6 but I managed a win. I've also lost to cars I should've beat. There are too many variables on the street. I believe you that your 335 will beat the e550. With that said, my friend's IS350 is dead even with a 335, M3, and a GTO but going by the stats it shouldn't be.

My point is that two similar cars can perform very differently in different conditions. You can't go by " I beat a car that beat this other car therefore I can beat the other car".

OK. thats just awesome man. Your 17 and you got all those cars. Good job man. who is the car registered under? but who cares. i dont want to get personal on this. i dont need to make up racing stories. Come to SF and see how much street race there is. My e550 has 10k miles on it. My parents drove it for 5k and never floored it. I think a e550 vs a 335i would put a better match than a 335i vs a s550.

If needed. I will tell my friend to drive my e550 and i drive my 335. I can try from dig and roll. Up to you guys!

Please. dont talk about fighting over a online forum. Thats just pointless.

Lol Is the 335 under your name? if so please post a pic of the registration and your license. If you didn't know already the E63 thing was sarcasm. But I don't expect you to understand. Rofl how about you come to LA....

The car beat the 335 thats all there is too it.. Now can you stop hugging the 335's nuts and admit it can be beat... There are Tl's that are Faster than other Tl's there are S550s that are faster than other S550's and there are E550's faster than other E550's and S550's Faster than other E550's and vice versa..

In your world everything is black and white..

Here are some numbers from C&D (yes...mag racing..again..):

E550
0-60: 4.8s
1/4mile: 13.4@106mph

S550
0-60: 5.3s
1/4mile: 13.7@102mph

I think those numbers are pretty much in line with a stock 335i right? And to the OP, do you remember if it was a 335i coupe or convertible (it might be hard to judge at night because its a hard top if it was a convertible)?

I am just telling you the facts kid. No need to get offended and shit. I personally have both cars in the garage. I am speaking with experience. What do you have? You only have the s550. Did you ever drive a 335?

Like Iforyou said. The mags time shows s550 being slower than the e550. Which I already stated.

I wish my mom bought me a TL-S when i was 16 and trust me driving a 120k car.

And he has experience racing against a 335. Again, the mags are not always accurate. Doesn't matter to me either way but just because you have both cars in the garage does not hold as much weight as him racing the two against each other.

There are lots of things that can happen. I ran my friend's CL500 with him in my TL and his girlfriend driving the 500. Even though she claimed she floored it, she obviously didn't hit it hard enough to make it downshift and my TL pulled it pretty good. Not saying that's what happened in this case but like I said many variables on the street. I use mags for a general comparison but no absolutes. I personally drove an 89 Turbo Trans-am bone stock down to the paper filter and stock chip to a 13.2@105mph 1/4. Car and Driver rated it at 14.1@101mph. Go figure.

when i was 17...i only had a VW GTI

anywho...i beleive it was possible that kosstick stayed ahead with the 335, it was ONLY til 90mph, quite short for cars packing that much power if you ask me.

bassically whoever got the better launch / who gunned it first would have taken the lead....the times are very close as well....just my

Don't worry about internet racers. You killed the guy and it sounds like it was a hard earned kill. Those are the best kind. Take the disbelief as a compliment.

Both these cars are 13's cars...anything could happen....the 335i might be slightly faster with the right driver but in this case the S550 did beat it...

TwinTurbo335i - You have some serious issues at 19. The biggest mistake that was made was you having a 335i. Its turned you into this cocky fag that no one wants to listen to. Does it really matter to you if a 335i lost by a fender to a S550? The S550 is a car that costs over 110,000! You should be happy a 335i barely lost to one. For god sakes the car has 382HP and over 390TQ!! My buddy has a 08 SL550 and that car moves. I wouldn't be suprised if the 335i could keep up due to the power to weight ratio. The S550 is a mid 13 second car and so is the 335i. The E550 can hit low 13's due to its lighter weight with the same HP and TQ with a 7AT. Its all a drivers race IMO depending on who gets the better launch. No need for you to get all fussy and turn into what most BMW drivers are..............PRICKS!

Kosstick - I have to admit, nice kill. I don't think your parents would appreciate you racing their $100,000 car.

Also, stop instigating shit ... it's getting annoying.

Twinturbo335 - Whenever the 335i is mentioned in ANY negative shape or form, you jump down the poster's throat. We know you "own" a 335i, shut the hell up about it.

I hate cars - Thanks for being the only person thinking realistically / outside of the box.

whats the proper way of breaking in the vehicle? please tell me. so your saying its dumb to not floor it and get anywhere close to redline? HAHAA. your car must be like broken or something if you floor your car the first day you bought it.

Truth is, you are supposed to floor it from time to time while breaking in. Driving too easy can cause more problems than driving hard during break-in. I floored mine with 8 miles on it and 57,000 miles later it doesn't consume a drop of oil.

Never heard this before. For a v8 engine pulling nearly 400 hp/400 torque stock i doubt putting so much stress on the engine at such low miles will harm the engine. Well dealer recommended to not floor it for 2000 miles. tuner shops says the same and get oil change in 2000 miles.

You don't necessarily have to floor it but it's good to manually put it in a gear, get on the gas hard to near redline and let completely off the gas and coast down so you get maximum vacuum. There's obviously a line between good break-in and abuse.

On the racing side of things, I've had much better leakdown numbers in the turbo car from hard break-ins. My engine had around 30 miles on it when I dyno'd it. Leakdown results were better (as they should be) after the dyno run. That's over 100hp a cylinder vs 50hp per cylinder for the Mercedes so stresses really aren't that high.

There's a motorcycle builder who's got some very good tips about how to properly break-in a motor. According to him, the first 20 miles are some of the most important and they determine whether or not the engine will be able to handle high RPMs later down the road. Basically something with the piston rings making microscopic grooves in the cylinder walls.
