S4 vs. 2004 TL
S4 vs. 2004 TL
Auto trans, no mods, good tires, the Audi was the older S4 with 2.7 turbo. Geez, I thought they were faster. Highway race from about 50mph+. He never had a chance, and by 120 had him by several car lengths. I guess that's why the newer ones have V8s.
Wow.. I'm a little surprised, I used to own a b5 s4 6mt. It was surprisingly not that fast for a tt v6 in stock form, though the power band was huge. However I'd say it was maybe a little quicker or at least even with my stock 3g tl 6mt. A chipped s4 I think would kick the living daylights out of a TL though. That thing was a beast with the stage 1 chip.

Yeah, yeah.. if it was chipped... and if the TL had a SC... the point was that it was stock vs. stock and, given the similar power specs, etc... I walked away from the guy with ease. He had that look on his face like the 325 driver does when I do the same.

From a dig the S4 MT is slower than a WRX, but eventually it will catch up, and the WRX traps at ~94-95mph. I'd imagine the S4 would trap at 96-97? But I guess the AT is slower that's why the OP managed to pull on it? Besides, I think turbo cars are slower than usual in hot, humid condition right?

I have a 03 TL-S and a 01 S4. Stock B5S4 is about 5.5 sec, 14 quarter.

So stock to stock they should be close.

I dunno...
All I can say it that I let the guy in front of me once... I came up so close behind him, I just passed him on the right without a problem and kept on gaining. I've had the same experience against the older A6 with the 2.7T. Of course, the A6 is heavier than the S4.
