S**t, Damn me !!!

I cracked my passenger side mirror while backing out the garage. The whole thing is working properly but the blinking part is cracked and there's also a gap on where the housing or whatever it is (that should be tighten together). I'm afraid water will leak in so I want to do something about it but don't want to replace the whole assembly and especially go to the stealership that would cause me a leg.

Anyone could help me on where to buy ?? and please excuse my English !!

If you have insurance and a low deductible I would use the insurance

Wrecking your vehicle is not covered under the new car warranty. I think my wife has knocked a couple of mirrors off some of her previous cars when backing out of the garage. Luckily she pays more attention when backing out and hasn't done that in the last few years.

calling the insurance company to have a $250 mirror replaced is stupid...

get a new mirror and replace it....if that cost too much for you then you bought the wrong car....

I notched mine coming out of the garage as well glad it bends backwards. In my defense, the neighbor's kid was running around behind me at the time and I was paying more attention to him.

Any ideas on where to buy and instuctions on how to swap ?? I've looked all over and there is no way I could over that thing without instructions. I'm afraid I would break something. Thanks in advance !!

Breaking anything on any car cost money either $1 or $100 and it makes me feel stupid for wasting money on stuff that I shouldn't have broke but money is money. But I would do what I have to do.

well it is pretty simple... you take the door apart

1 phillips where the little rubber plug
1 phillips on a hole bellow grip are
2 phillips behind a plastic cover which comes off with a flathead

door panel pops off, pull the weather stripping slightly at the corner behind the mirros, this will expose the 10mm bolts... I think its 2 could be 3

Sucks dude, but oh well no reason to dread over it nothing you can do about it. Shit happens just have to be more careful next time. But agreed like mentioned above just buy a new one and install it. Not difficult at all.
