cleanliness has nothing to do with oils quality- it should be turning dark as it picks up contaminents and keeps them floating to the oil filter- its normal to darken

Redline and RP are hi end synthetics- penzoil is working good in my car, any FULLY synthetic will do- get a good filter like mobil1 or K&N

Check out Fleetfilter.com for Napa Gold filters. I have used mobil1 filters but Napa Gold cant be beat for the money. They are made by Wix. Also if you had RP question you can e-mail them and they are really helpful.

i use royal purple w/ k&n filter or oem filter...btw synthetic shouldnt be too dirty after 2600 miles..thats under half the mileage life for the oil...i change mine every 3k miles anyways..

FYI - The type/blend of oil has no bearing on how dirty it will get/look over the miles.... Only the engine, driving conditions, and oil filter can effect that... At 3k mile intervals you are wasting your money (whether petroleum or synthetic), as well as natural resources.. Then again, maybe you're baja'ing your TL in the desert where short oil change intervals are warranted....
