Rotors and Break Pads

I have an 04 with 35k and I'm starting to hear a high pitch sound when I hit the breaks. What are people changing there rotors and break pads to. I was thinking for the for rotors to go with something slotted. Don't want drilled.

Any info would be appreciated.

Well first question is: A/T or M/T? If you have a M/T I think you only have one option so far. I can't remember the name of the company ( I believe it's an Italian company) and the rotors are $500+ for the fronts. If you have an A/T I recommend the ROTORA slotted rotors and any performance ceramic pad, i.e ROTORA, Hawk, EBC, etc.

How many of you have to replace rotors @ 35-40,000miles on an AT average driver. Are pads usually enough? Thanks

Had brakepads replaced at 5000 miles under warranty. At 8000 miles they replaced rotors and brake pads once again under warranty. And I suspect that when I bring it in for service next they will be doing another replacement.
I wish they could get this problem solved on this vehicle. They work fine, just noise and vibration, and something must be wrong to having to have them repaired so often.

Much regards

I had the brake pads replaced at 40K on my 6MT 04 with Hawk Ceramic. I am very pleased as the pads generate almost no brake dust. The metal squeal under light breaking is also gone.

As an aside – Tire Rack had a warning on their brake pad listings for the MT TL that the manufacturer required ceramic pads.
