Roof Rack?

Anybody know if they make a roof rack? Or if they will be? Removable? Due to seats not folding down, would be nice to have a rack for those longer objects.

I would think that TL's roof is too curved for a roof rack.

Barrecrafter

Barrecrafter makes a universal-mount roof rack.

take a look at their website. www.barrecrafter.com

The universal-mount requires a hook kit, which is not available yet (as the car is so new); however, if email them, I think they'll work with you and figure out when will be coming out for the TL.

I bought the universal mount and just got the adapter kit for my brother's Passat, and it works great. In fact, I'm going snowboarding tomorrow!

I just checked the Yakima website to see if my roof rack from my CL will fit on the new TL and it says that they don't currently have a fit but that they are working to find one.

This could be a problem for me since I need to be able to carry my bike and an occasional kayak.

Rich your in luck!! They are making one, but it requires an upgrade to the curb feelers option. Frankly...Its not worth the additional $2.39 upgrade charge. IMO.

Check out www.thule.com They make modular roof racks for almost anything on four wheels. The trunk pass thru should allow a couple of sets of skis to be carried inside but beyond that you'd need an external solution. Most ski shops carry them if you live anywhere near ski country.

You either think it's funny or you don't. If you don't, you wouldn't understand if it was explained to you.

I think it's funny.

How about a trailer hitch?

There was a guy from Houston on one of the BMW forums that had a custom, hidden receiver hitch installed on his 330 that mated to a 2 rail rack. Nice work. Email me (vc_slim@hotmail.com) and I'll send you the pics.

I've given up a 3 place, hard mounted trunk rack ('91 Accord) in favor of a bike-sans-wheels-in-the-trunk set-up. I'll either be flying solo, poor me, or hitching a ride with some of those people I've been carting around for almost 15+ years (rack was on an '84 Accord before that).
