Looks like a pretty strong showing of people disliking the current design, I think ron will fix it up for us.

You would have to butcher your whole front bumper to get a mesh grill in. Then you probably won't be able to put the stock one back in to sell the car. So then you would have to replace the front bumper for a couple hundred dollars. Not worth it IMO.

The wheel is unfinished. It is RAW metal, sanded to be painted. It was not able to get painted when Ron picked up the wheel, so it was left like that. Im sure it would look even better than it already does with a finish on it.

For the new RL, drilled to 5x120 and with custom seats for the RLs lugnuts (apparently they're special )

Thanks, mclaren, official spokesman and rep, lol. and I might just make it one bar across, but NO WAY anm i doing a the Mesh, it's impossible without cuting your bumper and doing a bunch of work customizing it. Not producable, might as well, DYI with mesh instead of buying anything from me.

If complete mesh is impossible, than the community will accept that. There is always more than one way to fix a problem, and different designed grilles might rub the community better. Take into consideration ronjon that everyone on these boards except two members as of this post, have commented on a desire for a new design. Business is business, but as of the current design, I wouldn't pay $50 for that grille, and I know it will be alot more than that.

i would work on the lower grilles the oem front grille is already nice, two pieces of matching "brushed aluminum" colored plastic that snaps on to the lower grilles like the A-SPEC concept would also sell like hotcakes.

The more I look at it the more I like it. It kinda stream lines the grill, cleans it up. Instead of the big bulky Acura symble. You have a nice clean look. I think if you had a pic of the grill with the new body kit we could see what it looks like together.

I'll take the lower grilles in a heart beat! but it does need a little modifying w/ the width to look more like the a-spec's

Oh yeah, that concept grill is hot as hell! i know its bigger than ours, but im sure Ron or someone else can make a grille similar to it

I like Ron Jons new grille and especially the stylized TL logo with a splash of color kicks it up a notch. I think this one will look better in person. We need many styles, like grilles for pickup trucks, no two need be alike. It's a personal thing.

So how much does an item like that run ?

Very curious what the rear visor is. Are we talking about an exterior wing over the rear windscreen or an interior peice ?

it's an exterior wing that would go on the rear windshield (towards the top where the brake light is)...ronjon was saying that there would be an opening on the wing so that way people could see the brakelight....

that would be the hottest....like the Cadillac CTS-V version grill....floating the A on the mesh background......and the mesh could be painted black very easily for a super pimp look.....

Step up RJ - do this and you will sell a million of these...for sure!!!

I second (or third or fourth) that! If there were an A-Spec style grill available I think I'd only buy/put it on if I could also get the matching lower grill inserts from the concept. That combo would rock in my book!

Ron, from one artist to another, don't take to heart what a limited audience thinks. You are the one with the vision, and that does have value. I've gone through a lot of the same experiences (except with 3d modeling and rendering critique) and if I've learned one thing it's stay true to your vision and follow through unless you find something truly better that you have also created. Critique is helpful but don't get discouraged. Only use it to improve your existing ideas!

At this point, its not about selling, but we have a limited anmount of time and workers who have to focus on more important projects like the CL kit, Accord kit and forged 1 piece wheels. A grille would take alot of work and tooling to make it bolt on and off, and I don't have the energy to invest into a product that would take the time away from bigger projects. hope you understand.

I agree. Making one with the "A" and one without is gonna give you a lot more marketing power too. Everybody likes to have options and truth be told I'd rather get a mesh grill with a floating "A" rather than those 2 bars goin across.

I spoke with RJ before about doing an emblem design and he mentioned that Acura and Honda don't let others make their logo. So maybe that's why he's doing the double bars.

Personally if he could make a lighted emblem, I'd be all for it. it would look so cool at night for someone to see 3 lights come up behind them.

Could this work...?

2nd Gen owner here, so I don't know too much about the assembly of the 3rd Gen grill. From what I understand, what RonJon is trying to do is utilize the existing mounting areas on the 2 sides of the OEM grill. If he were to fabricate a sort-of faux grille with mesh (because everyone wants one) that had a frame of it's own, it could be attached by the two side mounts, and then maybe further secured with industrial double-sided tape on the bottom "V" area of the OEM grill. Essentially, the grille frame would be formed to the left, bottom, and right sides. If the edges ran right to the existing edges of the OEM grill and sort of snapped on, it seems like it would look clean. Let me know if I am not making any sense at all. I am going to try and come up with some drawings of what I mean.

Understable but couldnt you just focus on completeing the other projects that take presidence and then come back to it when you can put more "Devotion" in it BTW what ever happend to that concept grill you had on here a while back the one that would simply attach over the stock grill with the A still visible and your logo in the corner i thought that was a better idea

The grill itself doesnt look right. I would like to add however, that it goes very well with the headlights.

I don't like the grill as well.
However, I love to see the pics of the rear window visor. How about just make a replica from BMW AC Schnitzer. I had a e39 525 with that wing and it looked great. Or the Racing Dynamics style that they do for 3 and 5 series BMW.
I'd buy that window visor in a heartbeat

Design is all right. But I agree with everyone else- MESH with either a floating A or the RJ insignia. If one of those appears- put me down for 1.

I agree...I would simply glue my "A" on top of the black mesh...
if it ever gets made and I havent already done something different, put me down for one
and I dont think the age of this thread really matters....so many of us (new and old members) are stoked about a grill alternative....

Not any more. Ron's making a similar 3-pc wheel, the Legend, and a Devotion 1pF (1-pc). The 1-pc looks just like those but it's lighter and only 1-pc...comes with staggered lips to allow for BBK. Check out the Group Buy forum or www.ronjonwheels.com for info.

Chill_dog do you have an idea of how much the legends 3pF would run for (staggered 19x 8.5)?
