I don't have any noise rolling it down physically, but the howl and deafening flutter that it sets up in the car as the wind whistles over it is unbearable and I've never opened my rear windows again.

I had something similar on my rear driver side window - I caught the same day that I took ownership - and took it back - they sprayed a lubricating silicone on the rubber gasket closest to the front of the vehicle and put the window up and down about 10 times.... that took care of it. I got some explanation of how the rubber dries out during shipping and all it needed was some lube. My noise was a high-pitched squeel - like glass catching on rubber. Simple free fix - but I'm not sure if this is your issue or not.

Too funny! I thought I ruptured an ear drum the day I did that. Like I was gonna get sucked outta the car or something! Same here - never opened again!!

Tbone: I'd love to see the pressure / oscilloscope readouts of that flutter. it does hurt your ears and makes you go deaf in the wavering pattern.
everyone else, if you want to reproduce it.. highway speed, all windows and roof closed, open one rear window half way or so, I think even full open does it.. and you'll hear it.. someone forgot a few aspects of testing in the test cell.

Roll Down Back Windows
Open the hood and trunk and turn on the fan and audio system full blast. THEN open the wing windows and put a "For Sale" sign in the back window. This should solve the problem in about 4 weeks.
