Roadtrip with the ol' TL.

So I've driven my car from Massachusetts, to Texas, then up to Wyoming. I haven't made too many big trips, except to Denver, Colorado several times. I wouldn't really call that a big trip, since it's only one state away, but it is 300 miles away! Anyways, I'm planning to hit up SoCal from July 10th to July 12th, then stop in Las Vegas on the way back for a night. Then I'll truly be able to say that my TL has been coast to coast! I wish I paid more attention to the Azine meets in California, Since there is a huge meet the weekend after I'm there. But I wasn't sure about the cops in L.A. Would they issue me a tint ticket for being out of state? Also, if anyone happens to see me cruising around SoCal, don't be afraid to toss me a friendly beep and a thumbs up! Oh, yeah, before I leave, I'll have to install these bad boy's to draw less attention to my car.

Ronjon Bumper.. Tape up your front end.. or else you'll regret all the chips. Our bumpers are more prone than others to get chipped. I've done 2 trips from NY to Miami.. not as far as you.

I wasn't planning to tape up the front end, cause there's still some touch ups that need to be done, and i've been too lazy to take it back to my painter. So i figure after I give it some hell on the highway for the rest of this summer, i'll take it in to get everything fixed and buffed out.

I'm planning to be in the Pasadena/Hollywood/Beverly Hills/Anaheim area. I'm bringing the little sister to Disneyland for the first time in her life.

Sounds like a great trip. Your tint shouldn't be a problem as long as it is legal in the state where your car is registered.

those are the resistors for LED turn signals- you clip them inline on the power side and run to a body ground point
Have to fake the computer or it thinks the reduced load is a failed bulb and causes that side of blinkers to go ultra fast to alert you of the problem
That will get a cops attention~

As said above- as long as the tint is legal in your state you are fine
Ca. or any state, cannot force you to comply with its tint laws or front license plate laws if you are an out of state visitor--
and you can always say- no Sir! this tint level is perfectly legal in my state!

DO NOT use the cell phone held to your ear in CA!!
they can cite you for that and its a primary-pull over reason to have a chat and give you a $100 ticket
You can use a headset or hands free of most any kind, as long as the phone is not held to head. No Texting while driving either~

Seatbelts are mandatory at all times for everyone in the car, and there is a big
`Click It or Ticket` enforcement campaign- another easy $100 for them~

OMG...
Just reminded me...I drove up to my sister's place in Tampa to ride mountain bike at Alafia. Anyway, on my return home I left late as hell and for some reason was hellbent on getting home REALLY fast (oh yeah, girl waiting for me at my house back in Pembroke Pines). Anyway I was doing 110mph (not condoning and was stupid, I know...it was a few years ago) the whole way and hadn't wanted to stop to piss.

So I pissed in a regular 20 ounce zephyrhills bottle...repeatedly...and before anyone makes jokes about the "fit"...it obviously didn't...I just lined up the "stream" while driving. Needless to say 1/3 of it ended up on me...the rest I kept dumping out the window since I had to pee soo much that night. Of course the next day I say a "V" where the piss kept pouring out over the car at 110mph...and my bike was thoroughly covered in it on the bike rack.

Ahhh...the stupid things we do.

It's not legal, but can I lie? I'm sure the cops in CA don't know anything about WY, or where it is on the map!

Haha, I drove through OK on the way to Wyoming from TX. I remember a fireworks warehouse off the highway, and that was it.

I'll definitely take a mental note of that! I have my seat belt on about 95% of the time. My phone is hooked up to the hands-free-link in the car, I do text when I drive....I'll be more careful of my surroundings!

the roads in Ca are filled with bad drivers, unlicensed drivers, never driven a car before!! and others with no clue as to whats happening outside the windshield

Please dont text and drive anywhere!

The cops wont know about your state tint laws and wont hassle you about it with out of state plates--just follow the other rules of the road and your ok.

I don't know if I can...awww hell...why not?!?!...THANK YOU!

Like I said, I was a bit younger and did dumb stuff. I don't think I would that now. I used a 1/2 tank more gas too! But I did manage to get home in 2 hours and 25 minutes!

a note on the Ca tint law- its a remove it-fix it ticket, no reason to bother out of staters on that.
All they want is a bit of cash for the speeding or seatbelt violation,,
and thanks for visiting~

Im still laughing at 300 miles being a road trip with all this prep,,,thats a day trip to Yosemite or to the track and back, not including the on track miles!

Check the tire presures including the spare- check the lug nuts too! no kidding
fluids good?
all the glass is clean- the car washed and waxed- that gets less attention

Note- some QD Quick Detail spray applied to the nose before trip, and at rest stops if needed, will let bugs wipe away clean

Well the trip is tomorrow. I'll be in SoCal around 1am on Saturday. I'll be heading to Disneyland in the morning till the evening, then headed over to the Disney Concert Hall to admire the architecture of the building by one of my favorite architects. I'll be hanging around on Sunday, then maybe taking off on Sunday as well to Vegas. Any of you guys in the SoCal area want to do a mini TL meet somewhere on Sunday, PM me with your name and number, and I'll hit you up when I'm there.

lol... A while back I was taking a drive from Hilo to Kona via Saddle.. for anyone that knows that route on the Big Island.. it's a desolate, lonely 2 hr (depending on speed) trip on a two lane road (some parts single lane - yield to oncoming traffic) and saddle is incredibly bumpy (huge potholes that'll sink a small ship) with blind curves and rolling hills.. I had to catch a flight out of Kona and I needed to pee super bad.. all I had was a empty energy drink can. I made one attempt but after a close call the fear of dying going 80 mph through saddle was stronger than my urge to piss.. I parked the car at the airport and pissed in the parking lot before my flight.. the 2hr by car trip took me a little over an hour (+2 minutes to piss).. phew..
