RL Side View Mirrors

05 RL and TL parked next to each other in my driveway, will the side view mirrors from the RL fit on the T? The joint looks very similair.

You prolly need to rewire those turning signals in order to make them work. ??

good question but the wiring might be quite difficult ...

it would be really cool if we could to have the turn signals in ours!

would this be possible using the tsx mirrors?

Why would acura put the turn signals on the tsx, but not on the tl?

The designers used our lights to end the groove running down the sides of the car. The RL and TSX don't have a groove....the lights would look like a wart on their smooth sides...like many cheap cars without side molding...Volkswagons, etc. They look much better when incorporated into some design element....mirrors, trim, "grooves", etc. ... even redundant BMW emblems like on the Z4.

I wish it would work, I really wish I had mirrors with turn signals.

just an FYI, I checked to see how much each complete mirror housing (case, mirror, motors, turn signal, mount) costs.... $376 EACH

If you can afford to pay that much for the mirrors, then you can afford to get them painted.

The only direct matches are Nighthawk Black Pearl and Desert Mist Metallic

others may be close, but you're probably better off getting them painted for a direct match

Stopped by the dealership today to check this out.

Looked at a RL parked right next to a TL. From the external
appearance there should be no reason it can't be done, they
have the exact same angles on the mount for the pillar. It
looked as though the pillar mount on the RL mirror was a smidgen
smaller as you could see the chrome trim on the door frame, and
on the TL it covers up the trim.

Since this looked good I checked it out with parts. There wasn't
a lot you could tell by the diagrams. Altough there was nothing
to say that you couldn't do it. I tried to see if there
was any in parts inventory, but there wasn't. I should have gotten
some part numbers. But perhaps if some of you could find out
what the parts numbers are some of us could call around and
try to find a place that had one for a a/b comparision.

They are priced steep. David McDavid Acura Plano wanted $423
a piece.

I looked at an RL interior to see if any other parts could be brought
over of interest. The rear deck with the integrated power vent
shade could be interesting. A lot of the stuff actually looks better
on the TL. Seats could probably be flipped, but why bother.

There is no reasons for me to swap mirrors. I won't have them replaced unless my mirrors are broken... If so, $$ is not the issue.

Don't forget the Redondo Red Pearl, which is available on both the TL and RL.

The mounting holes are 5mm on the TL and 6mm on the RL, so it isn't a exact swap.

Off topic but anyone know of a after market product for the power shades? or if possible to get the RL in to the TL ?

I think it would be too much trouble to put RL power shades on the TL. As for the flashing mirrors, the TL has side markers. The car would look silly with too many flashing lights. The TSX is too small for side markers, so it gets the flashing mirrors. The RL is at the top competing with higher luxury vehicles that have flashing mirrors, so it gets them as well.

BMW is a different company with a different thought on styling. Acura is on a higher scale than Mini. Looking at acura's line up you can see what I am saying about the flashing mirrors. Why did you have to bring up the mini. The thought of it makes me sick. Reminds me of the circus.

Now your changing your story. You said it was because it was a smaller car.
I'm showing you this design can go on a smaller car. Now you say, ohh because
Acura is on some elite scale from Mini. Step away from the crack pipe. Size
has nothing to do with it. Here are some more cars that are smaller than the TL
that have sidemarkers, and not only that... Some are considered of a Higher
scale than the Acura.. So bite it..

P.S. The Pinto in my avatar, even has a sidemarker. LOL

Honda S2000

BMW 3 Series (Equal to or above Acura in status)

Audi TT (Equal to or above Acura in Status)

Volkswagen GTI

I obviously need to be more clear because people over 30 start getting slower. THE TSX IS THE SMALLEST 4 DOOR IN THE "ACURA" FAMILY. Looking at the body design it looks better with flashing mirrors than with side markers. I am not saying there are no small cars with side markers. IM TALKING ACURA HERE. (This is an acura site right?) Besides, we were talking about putting flashing mirrors on a TL. That would be too much lighting on the TL and obviously acura/honda thought the same as they did not put them on the TL.

I meant to say people over 30 with "wak" in their username start getting slower. Dont want to offend everyone over 30. I happen to know 1 or 2 smart people over 30.

Nice reply. You just proved you're a total jag-off. I dont have time to fight with overaged internet geeks. Peace out everybody. And I thought BMW owners were assholes. You just reminded me why i never chat online. I'm wasting time fighting with a gay cowboy from Texas.

There's one in every group and it only took me one day of posting to find him here on acurazine. Amazing! (I hope this isn't too complicated for you to get)
