Only if Arthur can chime in and update us as to what lines he is using.
I doubt that he made his regular SS lines for 3G TL work with the calipers as thats what I have and the tech said they wont work due to the flare.

I bought a set of Russel SS Brake Lines a month or so ago from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Russell-Edelbr...russell+684690). I brought it to my mechanic to get it installed with my RL BBK and he told me it wasn't compatible. Told me the flare on the lines wasn't compatible with my car and if he were to install them, they could leak.
At first I didn't believe him because a few 3G guys on AcuraZine had them installed without any problems but I didn't take the chance and had them use the old rubber lines.
I ordered XLR8 SS lines on Sunday night and they arrive today (Thanks XLR8!). After looking at the lines, I now know what my mechanic was talking about.

There's a huge difference between the two.. so don't buy Russell 684690 SS lines if you own a 3G TL! They're listed wrong on Amazon and other sites. From what I was told if the lines don't create a seal, there's a possibility it could leak and the results can be fatal.

JnC... Maybe call XLR8 and ask them what Arthur ordered. I'm pretty sure they can help you. This is really helping people that are getting their bbk done.
I look at the product number on the bag. AC-1320 it is for a TL. XLR8 don't sell RL brake lines.

If I want to run a 13" rotor, how will that effect the bracket? I read in the other thread "RL calipers on 3G TL" that he thinks you can just add a spacer, is that true?

^^ The RL caliper is radial mount, it can be used with rotors upto 14" in diameter but the problem is clearance.
The 12.8" ones give you enough clearance to use your OEM 17" wheels, I believe anything larger than that would require at least an 18" wheel.

Arthur is using the brake motive pads and rotors and per him the front rotors are already warped, I was going with the brakemotive kit but decided against ex it as I just wanted slotted rotors and they don't offer that variation.

I would love to get a 2pc rotor but they cost a lot . I'm still deciding on rotor and brake pads but I'm leaning towards stoptech slotted rotor and brake pads.

Damn already warped? :/ I originally had a problem with mine but Sean @ Brakemotive was nice enough to send me another set and it cured my vibration problem. I planned on contacting him again for a set of RL pads and a front set of Mustang Cobra rotors. I haven't had my BM set on my TL for that long but so far I'm happy with them. I'm really just trying to keep costs down. If if go over $1k I mid as well have bought the XLR8 BBK for $1100 and called it a day.
I also considered contacting Adams Rotors as well. Still scoping out prices and such.

What about the rear guys?? are you leaving the ugly rear caliper and the wimpy rotor?
I have the 14" front rotora bbk and it still bother me that I have the rear stock not to mention the huge bias I have in the front and that bother me a lot. What I can do? and where do I start? I have been researching and the only option for the rear I have is:
Rotora 2 piece - $2,100 [expensive as hell]
Wilwood r 4 pot $1,100 [want to use the 2 pot instead 4 pot]
RB Performance -1,200 [retain the stock caliper wtf??]
I guess I have to go with Evo X rear bbk and make a custom bracket.

they're at least 300 everywhere i looked without any coating or paint so i thought the price was pretty fair, they were 350 but i probably could've got them cheaper if i waited for the listing to end but didn't want to risk it. I asked if he could change the letter coloring the red is kinda growing on me now though, if anyone can think of a better color i'm open to suggestions

Sorry guys Im on vacation and havent had time to stay connected to the forum. Have read the recent posts and for some that have been wondering what lines Arthur used, he told me to get the xlr8 ss lines for TL. As for the bracket it should be home but im out of the country to take pics or measurements. JNC great job so far, I cant wait to get home and get started. So again lines have to be for the TL as confirmed from Arthur but have to be from xlr8.

Are you guys doing the math for proper bias? If these calipers are being used with a bigger rotor they should have less piston area than what came with the car. Severe front bias sucks and it lengthens your stopping distances over stock. My Rotora BBK killed stopping distances compared to stock. The Stoptech balanced BBK drastically improved stopping distances compared to Rotora and slightly over stock. Once the tires were warm I was getting stopping distances in the low 90' range from 60mph. The Rotora kit was 30' longer!
If this is only a caliper change, it's a lot of work for very, very little gain. Only in pedal feel but your stopping distances and fade resistance will not change or will change for the worst.

I understand looks but not decreasing performance over stock, especially when we're talking about something like brakes. Physically bolting them up is only part of the battle. Proper bias is extremely important.

RL Caliper = four 43mm pistons (5808.8 mm sq). TL Brembo = two 42mm & two 38mm piston (5039 mm sq). That's 15.3% more hydraulic area. Even to an idiot it should be plain to see you are increasing the front bias SUBSTANTIALLY just by switching installing RL calipers. But then you throw a 13 inch rotor on top of that??!?!?!? Now you are into complete Retardsville. This setup will DRASTICALLY upset bias, thereby increasing your minimum braking distance (maximum brake effort), and may even wreak havoc on your ABS system. Just ask IHC about his bogus Rotora kit. This is a terrible way to spend money and ruin a great car.

I'd rather be informed about what I'm doing than throwing these things on for looks alone. I'll be honest, I don't know much about brakes and thought adding more power to the front would help stopping power, thank you for proving that theory wrong.

I kind of feel bad now. I was hoping by chance the piston area would be similar or even less with the RL caliper but at least it will save people from wasting money. 94eg! is the bad guy, he posted the numbers lol.
