RJ Body kit. Installed by a rookie?
Hello. New to the forum. Tried a quick search, but cant find this thread if there is one (Im sure there is somwhere) so Imma ask you guys. I want to get a RonJon front peice for my 04 TL. Can anyone tell me if they are difficult to install? I know Rondy says to have it installed by a professional, but they all recommend that. Has anyone istalled one that isnt a body guy?
Thanks for any info/feedback

the RJ front is a full bumper cover replacement, it should be as easy as removing your bumper and putting that one on, in theory it's not even an install
unless i'm mistaken, i havn't installed it or seen it installed.

From what I have read and understood, the kits do not fit 100%. They need to be shaved and cleaned up a bit before they are fitting perfect. If you have experience in doing body work, I'm sure you can install yourself.
I may be wrong since I do not have the RJ Kit, but I believe I have read that before.
I would have a professional install and paint it. It would suck to waste that much money if you end up putting it on worng and looking like crap.

No need to shave or trim anything, nor build anything up. However, a test fit and sanding the edges is always better for fitment. Also, urethane can be tricky, and the wheels all have to come off to access the inner fenderwells and mounting hardware. Urethane takes on a different quality when too hot or too cold. Tends to be less forgiving to those who are not experienced. I am not a pro and I tried to install a front bumper and had a really hard time. By the end of the install, it took be more than 4 hours just to figure out how to line up both sides so that the gaps were even. I figured it out eventually, but I was sweating bullets and frustrated trying to solve the method of installing. That being said, here is what a quality test fit looks like by a pro:
and how the finished product can look on a different car:

Hey Ronjon, I have an 07 type-s and looking at the pictures it seems like the exhaust tip area will be too small for the type-s tips. Judging by the pictures I see on the site. Also, can I re-install my foglights and oem aero vents incorporated with the fogs on your front bumper?
