Rhino Ramps

I just got a set of Rhino Ramps 8000 for Christmas and was wonerding if anyone here uses them? If so how are they? I have a 08 TL-S and was not sure if they will be wide enough. It looks like the tire will just fit on the ramps but I have not tried yet.

I have rhino ramps, the tires just barely fit on the ramps, and it works alright. MAKE SURE you are lined up correctly... triple check that you're going to get on the ramp right. I had an unfortunate accident once that resulted in me having to purchase the A-spec body kit

Thanks for the tip! I just wanted to know if anyone had any issues with them. You don't really have to be an ass. Plus is it is kind of hard to measure the ramps when they are home and I am at work.

well I also wanted to suggest you pull up to the ramps and see if the tire fits AND if there will be clearance on the spoiler if lowered-
my gen2 wont go up the metal ramps-drags the nose- but the lower angle plastic ramps are fine!

Here are some real words of advice:

If new to putting the car on ramps, have a friend stand on each side to make sure the ramps dont slide forward... watching from outside- they advise you initial contact, centered on ramp ok to proceed- then cresting the top ridge- and stop! you are in the dip and the front edge is at the stop bump-perfect!

Pick/place a visual marker on the ground you can watch- like with the door open looking down at the ground ( you cant see the tires -dont bother trying)
measure the distance from edge of ramp to stopping point, make 2nd visual referance mark, now ease the car up the ramps--
you can verify cresting and stop with your marks.
After a few times its easy to do alone..freaks the neighbors out too

Smooth concrete is a bad surface to work on with the ramps--they slide as you try to get the wheel on them!
flat surface preferred to sloped driveway too-
and alway place a block of some type behind a rear wheel so the car cant roll off the ramps unexpectedly
Yes you can back onto the ramps too so the rear is in the air

You called?

Oh, nevermind - just read the thread - I thought I was needed for something.

OP - let us know how you like 'em. From time-to-time I think about getting a set, but have never pulled the trigger.

on my rhino ramps I have about 2 inches to play with. Although I believe they are the truck ones so they are wider. I have no problems with my a-spec and clearance.

I used to have two sets and gave both away because about 8 years ago, I built my own set out of 2x10's, four high. They are so much better for all three of my vehicles. The Rhinos used to skid along on my driveway and my garage and would just not take a bite.

I take them and stick the bottom of the ramp and wedge it up against the wheel and give it a good kick to seat it in there. They don't move at all as I move up them. I also have a concrete driveway with a rough surface, so I'm sure that helps.

I use em....they work fine. No issues whatsoever.....ever. You cant expect to drive over them and not have an issue though....so be careful when pulling onto them. Other than that...they work GREAT!

I use them as well. Just wedge it in the wheels and it should keep it from sliding. They're great if you're taking the front or rear bumpers off.

I apologize for bringing up an old thread but...

Should I worry about the tail pipes when pulling up on to jacks? My Type-S is stock.

Should be fine. I pull up onto lifts and no scrapping issues.
