The car typically depreciate alot during the first yr! In addition, most of the car only worth 37% of original price if is in excellent condition after 5 yrs.

why is that bad? its got 13K miles on it and you know that the biggest loss in value is when you drive it off the lot. the car is 31,900 when he bought it so he lost about 4,500 for the car. if a car depreciates 7% every year(in this case 13K is like 1 year of driving). its kind of on target.

I agree, he has to price it that low if he is going to ever sell it.

Who would pay $30,000 for a car with 13k on the odo when a new one can be had for about $2k more?

I think you really need to own a car at least two years to sell it without losing your shirt.

These are used TL's with 3000 miles on them with VIN# in the 100's and some are selling OVER MSRP... ridiculous

Actually, I saw a new report that said the Acura TL (2004) has one of the highest re-sale values after 5 years. It listed it at 52%. I'll have to dig to see where I saw it.

Being an 03 owner, I can tell you that I heard it all from the dealership about the car having a higher resale value ... it's all bunk .. every dealer will tell you that when you are buying .. and then they will turn around and tell you your car isn't worth anything when trading or selling.
