requesting feedback on buying an '04 TL

Hello,
I am looking for advice from you afficianados on my contemplating buying an 2004 TL-White Pearl from Carmax. It has 84K miles which is high for my taste, but I am trying to stay in a certain price range. It rides great and I will be purchasing an extended warranty. Cosmetically it is in great condition as well.

Let me have it-dish out any pros and cons. I am new to the forum.

Thnx,
Cjj

Is it an automatic? They seemed to have issues with those trannys in 04. Get it looked over by Hendrick Acura as they will let you know if it was ever in an accident and if all things check out ok. These cars can be bought cheap these days but the repair bills are gonna kill you if you have issues. Also expect to pay close to if not a little more than a grand on the 105k service.

Hi-thanks for the reply. Actually it is an '05-my oversight. It is an automatic. I was going to get an extended warranty also. The Carfax looks good-no alerts. And I am planning to have it checked out by Hendrick if I take the leap. I have always loved the TLs-but I want to make a sound decision based and let my emotions guide . me. I was going to go back and test drive it again. Can you reccomend any things to lookout for/pay close attention to?

BTW-nice ride.

Don't always assume the lower mileage car is better, a well maintained car with high mileage will give you much less problems than a poorly maintained one with much lower mileage.

Actually there is no difference between the 04 and 05 automatic transmissions.

the TL is a proper car for those that are tall and or fat, lol, I am a big boy and this car fits me like a glove, the power is great the engine sounds soft but loud when you hit vtec, which I did today for my first time, and let me tell you, it is a MONSTER!!! Stock!

Next is the luxury, it is a fantastic interior, the buttons feel solid and not cheap, Navi looks great, but I dont have one, i use my tomtom, the blue gauges and blue illumination is the greatest. The car handles corners very well, the car gets good gas mileage with a very high tech performance engine. You must use Premium Fuel to get the best out of the engines power. The Best part of the car is no doubt the Exterior style. It is perfect, it has great lines but doesnt over due it like a foresay IS300 or a Honda Accord 09 or even the 09 TL. Its style is one of a kind and will look great 20 years from now.

Just like its predecessor and now the 2nd best car I owned, 1994 Honda Accord EX Vtec
