Reprograming the immobilizer chip

Reprograming the immobilizer chip

My dealer quoted me $103 to reprogram a new key. I have already had it cut, and programmed the FOB (lock unlock and trunk) myself.

Is there a cheaper way to get the immobilizer chip programmed?

maybe a honda dealership?......or.....?

Any suggestions would be great!!!

Try to call other dealers if they are around your area. I called 7 Acura dealers and found 1 that quoted me for $47.50 half hour labor work. Went there and got it done today. It's working great! I love it!

Well most dealers charge an hour labor for a new key cut and programmed which is usually around $100. Maybe if you try the honda dealership and say that its already been cut and just needs the immobilizer to be programmed they might give you a break and maybe charge a 1/2 hour labor, it doesnt hurt to try!

Take Yellow Pages and call locksmiths around. Some of them must have necessary equipment. It shouldn’t cost more than $30. It is 10 minutes job if a guy works slowly.

Don’t forget all your keys. They have to be programmed all at the same time.
