Replacing OEM HID's

I've just replace the headlight unit. The unit did not come with the ballast or hid lamps which run a pretty penny. Any thoughts on going with an aftermarket HID kit instead of the OEM replacement? Any specific recommendations?

I'd bite the bullet and get the stock ones. If you have an aftermarket system it may effect resale value if you so choose to include that info.

May I ask why you had to replace the headlights?

thanks for the feedback...The car was in a front end collision. I thought it might be an opportune time to upgrade the HID system since it has to be replaced anyways.
