Replacing front windshield question...
Check out AcuraOEMParts.com for the windshield if your insurance won't cover the full cost of the windshield AND if they'll let you. Although, most insurance companies use their own 3rd party glass vendor (such as Safelite). I recently got a chip in my windshield and opted to have it repaired first. My insurance offers FREE repair and $100 deductible for replacement. If you're not happy with the repair or if it doesn't work, then you can get the new windshield anyway. The repair came out great for me! If this is an option for you, I'd highly reccomend it. In fact, when I called in, they asked if the crack was smaller than a dollar bill - I said, "haha, it's smaller than a penny!"
In any event, here's the link to the site. They sell the OEM window for $550.80 (retail is $691.94). BTW, this was for an 07 w/nav, however I would think all 07 & 08's are the same, nav or not (if not all 3G's).

went aftermarket but it was ppg glass. $250 deductible. Our windshields have an acoustic barrier and that is why they are like $800 or more. Of course, my new windshield got chipped like 2 weeks after it got installed, I love diesel rigs! I repaired it with a kit from Advanced the second time and it turned out great, you can just make out a "wave" where the chip was.

What's the kit you got from Advanced? Is it difficult to do yourself, and do you think I could touch of the chip Safelite already worked on?
I don't remember the name off of the pack. It had a sirenge and a couple of tubes of epoxy. It was very easy, but time consuming. I don't see why you couldn't repair their work, but I don't know for sure.
Just got new windshield - FYI
I had been monitoring this tread and just got a new windshield in my
2004 TL. I live in PA and checked with Diamond Auto Glass and Safelite.
Diamond was alot cheaper, but Safelite had an actual repair facility that
I preferred to go to in the cold weather. Prices were 780 (safelite) vs
622 (diamond).
I got Safelite to match the price and they guaranteed it met the original
quality/spec. I was in an out in 50 minutes and it was perfect in every
way. That guy could do it in his sleep, I am sure. I was very impressed.
The only difference between the windshields is the Honda logo on the OEM,
but it was the same in every respect even on the written spec which said
Acoustic Insulation and Shadeband. No tape needed, or any degree of
ugliness or sign of repair. Takes 24hrs to cure. Also had the same
"Lamsafe" logo/rating on it.
Safelite didn't have the matched price in the computer when I got there
because it went through the corporate call center and who knows what they do.
But it came out cheaper at $596 out door with tax and molding, etc.
I can't imagine what an Acura dealer would charge, but I was pretty
content. Guaranteed for life (leaks, etc.).
So price with Safelite is highly negotiable, I doubt dealer would do
the same. Got inspecition stickers replaced at shop near by
house.

so my window cracked even more than i used to have it from right to left.
I tried to add the window insurance and they wanted me to take pictures of the window. but my front window is broken.
or
pay the $250 comprehensive deductible.
or
pay out of my own pocket
i want OEM honda window though. does it really cost $800bucks?
lol anyone wanna take a picture of their non-broken windshield for me? =)

Do a search ..I posted last year about the same thing. I called the guy my dealer deals with. He was going to put on some cheap glass, but I insisted on using the glass with the layer since I was out $250 no matter what. He didn't know anything about it, but I gave him the specs from one of the threads. He looked it up and it was right. Make sure the glass is made in the USA, not Japan. He said it's much stronger, and he's right. I've had it about a year with no chips to report. The total cost is high, but insurance covers it no matter what glass you chose..at least mine did.
I got my 2002 TLS windshield replaced just before I sold it to buy my '04. Since I was selling the car, I went the cheap route. I'm glad I sold the car because the windshield wasn't nearly the quallity of OEM. The area near the rear view mirror attachment was the worst...it didn't even come close to matching the OEM glass. It looked cheap...which it was.
