Replacing DRL Bulbs - HID or LED?

Has anyone put HIDs into their DRLs?

I don't like the ugly yellow light that comes out of them and doesn't match the Headlights.

What can I get to have the same exact light color?

I was thinking of putting another set of HIDs in there has anyone done this?

Thank you very much for any help

DRLs are there to let the front car notice you instead of looking good. HID will never work as good as normal bulbs.
if you really dont like them, try to get some LEDs, just forget about HID.
driver in front of you will either not seeing you or get annoyed by those bright beams from HID.

People have done HID in DRL. There is some threads around you'd have to search for them. As far as I know you'd need to put in a relay harness for the full 12volts the HIDs needs. I believe that the drl's are only 5 or 6 volts, that's why they are dim. I don't know this for a fact I'm just repeating what I have read and I can't confirm if this info is right.

I just slapped a set of 2500k Nokya bulbs in my drl's. I have 3000k hid in my fogs so the yellows match pretty well.

Can anyone else chime in or forward me the info on HIDs?

I heard some year cars you cab put them right in and others you will need a relay?

How would other cars not see you with the DRLs having HIDs? I dont understand?
You have a choice to have the DRLs on or off any way and HIDs are brighter

LED's look really nice, especially the v-leds kit. HID's would be too bright and i wouldn't really consider them DRL's at that point, more like second headlights.

HID's for heads, sure.
HID's for fogs, why not?
HID's for DRL's...idk...

Im just imagining double the light output and that's exciting. Unless it's going to blind people very much then I dont want to do it.

Okay so I guess I need to go to the best bulb replacement to get an exact match with the headlight color.

If anyone can help with that Id appreciate it. That led system with harness seems a little too intracate for the purpose.

yes i have however the DRL's are running at 6 volts, so you need to install a 6 volt relay in the circuit

Is this all 3d gen TLs or what?

I heard some years run at different volts and there is a way to check that

Yea if you wanna know for sure plug in a mutli meter in the socket. Then you'll know. If you don't have 1 you can get one dirt cheap at harbor freight.

Just get this kit:

Here are my results with the 5k kit:

I am totally thrilled with it. Coupon codes are around to get the price a bit cheaper too...
