I just picked up my new TL.

In CA the front license plate is require but isn't regularly enforced. I am thinking about leaving the front license plate and holder off my front so you can see the Acura and it looks nicer.

However when I remove the holder I see that there are 2 little inserts missing where the screws from the holder frame go into the bumper. I don't know if the inserts would snap in or if they were "attached" and could not be reinserted.

Anywhere know where I could find a replacement part for this? It would obviously have to be painted to match.

 

Check the dealership. They take them out when installing the holder. Maybe you can have them on the look out for your specific color. Also good luck on the fix-it ticket issue. So keep the ones with screw hole so when you have to show up for the fix-it

 

Well there aren't really inserts with holes, the holes are in the bumper and the screws from the license plate holder go direclty into the bumper. So yes, if I get a fixit ticket (my wife has had her car for 6 years and never been pulled over without her front plate) I could within 5 minutes pop out the replacement inserts, and reattached the holder and license plate.

 

Check your glove box. Mine were in there along with a lot of other peoples.

 

brianp, assuming your dealership mounted the front license plate holder correctly, there are plugs that will cover the holes on the bumper. I also found my plugs in my glove box. Others just went back to the dealership and asked for them or bought the plugs for a few dollars.
