Replaced 3rd/4th gear

pressure switches, oops, sorry hit enter too early. anyway I didn't have a lappy nearby (was at a buddy's house) and got new switches and wasn't sure which was which. I replaced the brown one with the new brown one (28610-RAY-003 I believe) and the white one with the new white one. are they color coded? How would I know if I had them back asswards?

Thanks!!

You are right. They aren't necessarily color-coded, but they are different colors

so how is the shifting now that you've replaced them? How long did it take you?

I replaced them 2 weeks ago. Not much of a difference (if any).
Very easy to do, it's easier if you have a 22mm wrench but a crescent wrench will do. Took me less than 30 mins.

@50k miles

It's really quick and easy. I was changing my ATF today so I got the switches to do at the same time. turned the wheel all the way to the left, you can see them pretty easily, 4th gear is super easy to get at, 3rd you have to unbolt a couple bolts to get at but you'll see it right away. 22mm socket/wrench makes it easier but I was able to do it with minimal effort with a medium crescent wrench. it's easier to get at with the wheel removed but I had no problem doing it while jacked up with the wheel turned. the DIY makes it seem harder than it is, a video would be best. in retrospect I guess I could have made one with the phone but hindsight is 20/20. if someone in Tampa needs help doing this I'll make a quick video Only bitch is the switches look identical with the exception of the housing color, I'm hoping I put the right ones in the right places. It would be pretty aggravating & ironic if the factory ones were brown and white and then the replacements were reversed lol.

oh and regarding shifting i'll have to tell you tomorrow, today I did:
AMSOil Oil & filter
Drained the radiator & block and replaced my HCV valve (which was a whore to get at)
Power steering fluid drain & refill
ATF drain/refill and 3rd/4th sensors
K&N Clean & Re-oil
and I was going to bleed out the old brake fluid, but I had to get to a Christmas party so I bailed, it's still on jackstands.

It's more of a preventative maintenance thing. It's recommended to change them every 50-60k miles.

Rut-ro scooby, you aren't supposed to flush our transmissions, you're only supposed to change the fluid three times, with a 5 minute drive in between each change. flushing can seriously damage the transmission.

It's just my humble opinion, but I really think everyone should at the bare minimum print out a list of the topics in the sticky garage thread, and before changing any component of the car or any fluid or anything like that, read what the pros recommend. Shops that aren't acura/honda specific may not recommend the right thing for your car. I had a car about 8 years ago where the tranny shit itself (literally exploded all over the road) about 2000 miles after I had a flush and fluid change. I chalked it up to bad luck, until I started educating myself on these boards and while reading that thread above I had one of those "...son of a BITCH" realization moments

If you took it to an Acura dealership they would do it the right way wouldn't they? (3x3)
