Removing shift knob

This week I tried to remove the shift knob on the 04 NBP, but couldn't seem to take it out. Do I just turn and twist it at a specific angle or do I just pull it out. Or is there any special screw I have to twist? Please help. Thank you.

Just did it

Real easy man, just turn counter clockwise and it screws off. Real tight at first. Just make sure you tighten the new on as tight. I just replaced my factory black one with a wooden........sweet
