Why do you feel the need to impress people with motor sounds? It's a TL - everyone knows that your car can perform - why the hell would you want to mess with it, make it louder, and call attention to yourself? If you're insecure about having a sedan, trade it in for a grumbly Mustang - oh wait - but you have an automatic too. Learn to drive stick, then you can whine about the resonators muffling your drone. I bet you have a broccoli hair cut, don't you? BTW, this is Rob's fiance, so this is a chick who drives a TL, and would whoop your ass on the road anyday.

Why is that fake? Not everyone can afford 1000+ for a new exhaust system, its much cheaper to cut and weld on the original, and in my opinion can sound a hell of a lot better.

Its fake because it does nothing for performance. If you are getting into the business of cutting and welding just stick some nicer mufflers in line, it would cost a helluva lot less than 1k, sound better, and improve power.

rbf351, sounds like your girl thinks your spending too much time with your forum buddies and is trying to get you kicked off. Pay more attention to her(if shes hot).

if u want a nice deep sound for cheap, then i suggest going with a CAI or Short Ram Intake....they don't make any short ram for the 3G TL but u can easily modify a CAI or buy the K&N Intake ....the next step up is comptech exhaust...once again...the only exhaust out there for comptech...other options would be custom exhaust which wouldn't be a bad idea either.

I thought the only company that made a CAI for our car was AEM? I was thinking of getting that and putting a K&N filter on that.

that does not make it fake. he was not talking about performance but rather wanting to get a deeper sound from his car...removing a resonator from the exhaust will do that.

I bet if you went with 2 Magnaflow SS Mufflers and a Magnaflow SS resonator along with 2.5 from the cat to the Y and 2.25 after you would get the same amount of Performance gains if not more than the Comptech....and it would cost u maybe 650 tops, and it will sound about the same if not better.

Give me a couple of weeks and I will let you know, because that is the set up I am going with. Comptech wanted 400 for two mufflers and like another 125 for resonator, So I bought aMagnaflow mufflers for $250.00
