Removing Rear Wing Spoiler

My 2005tl has a rear wing spoiler. I am leaning toward removing it. Without all the comments about likes and dislikes, is there a simple way to do this or I am stuck with repairing holes in the existing trunk or replacing the trunk altogether? Suggestions/thoughts appreciated.

did you had the drilled or used tapes to put this wing spoiler on?

If you use drill, it will be wise to replace the whole trunk if you remove the wing.

And it will be the same if you tried to patch the holes where you probably need to repaint too.

If I were you, I will leave the wing spoiler alone since I don't want to spend the $$ to repaint/replace the truck.

I assume it is drilled since it is the wing spoiler. I thought only the lip used adhesive. I have never looked at it that closely.

I also had the wing spoiler installed and I am pretty sure it is drilled. Sounds like your best bet if you really wanted to get rid of it, would be to replace the entire decklid. Not a fun (or inexpensive) proposition.

It is bolted on. 3 holes on each side if I remember right. I looked at mine when I took the liner off to install the backup camera and Cold Cathodes.

I am having second thoughts on my wing spoiler. I was thinking of having the dealer remove it.

Why dont you ask to see a member here with the same color if they want it, and just meet up and swap the whole trunk. Its a five hundred dollar accessory, should go to a meet and I am sure somebody will be happy to trade. Cant be too hard to do, that way both of you can benefit from the whole deal. Just my , good luck and the spoiler dont look too bad.

This thread is almost 4 years old.

Try putting a Wanted to Trade thread in the Black market. You might have some luck there.
