2007 TLS

Hey guys.....just got my 2007 tls. I like the look of the exhaust on the car but would like for it to be a bit louder. I have heard of people removing their mid mufflers or resonators i'm not sure what the difference is...sorry...but if you guys know more about this can you let me know. I want to know what is the difference between a resonator and a mid muffler and what happens if i remove the mid muffler..does it make the ride a little louder, is it safe and does it void the warranty because i have also heard that i will not be able to pass inspection if i dont have the mid muffler. Also what about removing the catalic converter...is that like the same thing. HELP PLEASE!.
