Removing Door Panel for Moleskin - screw is stuck???

By the diagram above, on my driver door and my rear passenger door the "stopper screw" aka the one by the edge of the door is stuck. I can turn it just fine but it doesnt go anywhere. It feels like something inside is messed up.. idk what to do really inexperienced when it comes to screwing/drilling unless it goes smoothly. I've moleskinned the other two doors so I don't wanna just stop.. any help is appreciated thanks! I'll try to post a video

Yup, I've encountered this many times when removing the door panel. You have to use a very fine tip needle nose pliers to grab the metal ring with the plastic insert (you have to slip it between the door panel and the metal of the door- you may cause a slight scratch with the pliers, but no one will ever see it). This was designed to be used once apparently and you'll need to use the pliers to reinsert the screw as well otherwise it'll just spin in the metal of the door. It isn't a great design. You can get a small tipped pliers at Walmart for $5 or so.

its funny because I was just doing the vanity light led swap and all the threads said that the bulb housing wasn't a great design either. I'm beginning to think all Honda can design is engines but defintely thanks for the input! If I can get it to work your a lifesaver! I hate when things like this happens it feels like the world is ending I'm about to try it now thanks again!

I had to remove the same thing with needle nose pliers too.
The culprit is when it was removed before, and then retightened too tight.

Ahh the needle nose worked perfectly. This is such a relief! Moleskin is a lot of work

I added my own felt. Was super cheap, and uses no adhesive. Works flawlessly!

It might also not be a bad idea to add some adhesive felt (small piece) to the contact area of the metal door where it meets the inner door trim in case the door panel needs to come off in the future- this way, the metal door doesn't get any additional scratches when using the needle nose in the future.

you sandwich the felt between the window "blade" and the door panel.
it will not move.
