Remove a Single Wire from ECU Harness?

I can't figure it out how to pull a wire out. I'd like to replace one.

I don't know how you can get more specific than the title of this thread. I need to remove a wire from this harness. You can see I've basically destroyed everything around the wire trying to insert the tool in every angle known to mankind to find this so called "release tab" to get the wire out and I can't figure it out. Yes the release lock on the top of the harness is pulled up even if you can't see it from this picture angle.

They include links to Amazon for the proper depinning tool, Youtube videos for HOW to do it... What more do you need?

the title of the thread says "remove single wire from ECU"

that doesnt tell us shit!!!

the picture you showed us is not the ECU...it's a molex connector.
is there a "door" or "flap" that you can flip up on the back side of the molex connector? if so, open the door/flap and then rotate it over to how the picture shows and you're going to look for a notch. stick the depinning tool or screw driver in this notch/latch. Since you fucked up the connector, it will be very hard to find the notch/latch...

It's the fucking 31P ECU connector. What other kind of damn wire would I be talking about? If all anyone here is going to do is regurgitate shit from Google without any fucking first hand knowledge then just don't respond.

To release the pin just push a key onto the release slot.

If it's like any other connector, push in from the wire side, compress the release tab, then pull the wire. Shouldn't be that difficult. Looks like you mangled the connector, I would get a new one.

First hand knowledge here!

Grab a depinning tool and slip it in to release the metal retaining wing from the crimped on connector. Then pull.
