Remove dealership sticker from trunk lid?
Hello all,
Getting an 05 TL next week, how do I remove the sticker the dealership puts on the back of the car advertising their dealership without damaging the paint? If someone has suggestions on specific brand names of glue removers or such please let me know. Thanks.

Tell the dealership to do it before you pick it up. No big deal, they do it all the time.

Just watch the heat .. you can blister the paint..
As or the glue .. WD-40 also works.
The link Fish posted was for debadging and whoever did the job abused the paint .. prolly the result of the Goo-Gone.
I have debadged a lot of cars and never really had to polish anything out.

I've never had "Goo Gone" damage any painted surface. Was probably what he used to apply the GG and subsequent abrasive rubbing etc.. Very rarely do I use a heat gun for reasons Jesstzn mentioned. Way to easy to get too close/too hot while focusing on the removal etc.
Requesting the dealer perform this is possibly a good idea - then it's their problem. However, don't sign any paperwork until complete and you inspect it...

KJ.. sorry I should have been a little more explicit .. Combination of Goo-Gone and the applicator he used to apply it.
People don't realize that a paper towel and a lot off cotton towels/tee shirts and the likes are rather abrasive.

If its just vinyl lettering, I've always simply used my fingernail. Once you get an edge up, the lettering should pull up. I follow with a quick hit of clay bar and a dab of wax. Warming the are with water or the sun would help but I've nver had a problem.
