Can you guys tell me what is probably happening here.

I installed AudioVox PRO-9175FT4 Remote Start in my 2004TL AT.

Remote start works great.

I CANNOT set alarm by pressing twice with the AudioVox remote.

Here is my question:

Once in a while. I can't put my finger on it. I press the unlock key or trunk key on the audiovox remote and bang the alarm starts freaking out. Loud horn horn horn horn.

Only way to stop is to open the car and grab the Acura remote and hit unlock key. Sometimes I have to hit lock then unlock key. Not fun when you are in front of a bar.

My theories:

1. I am pressing two buttons at once by mistake or sloppily hitting them.

2. While car was parked something set the alarm to go off.

3. Audiovox is a POS.

Anybody tell me what this could be?

 

I have an Acura CL with an AudioVox Alarm with remote start. This is how mine is setup.. The AudioVox remote I have has Unlock/Lock/Trunk Button and a Option button (4 buttons). My trunk button is used to remote start the car (if you hit it 2x) if you hold the trunk button for like 2-3 sec.. it then opens the trunk..

I never use my Original remote. If you want to open up the trunk, you must unlock the whole car (disable alarm), then Open the trunk..
