Remote start?

Has anyone been able to add a REMOTE START feature to their TL? Specifically, a 6MT TL?

I understand that you have to depress the clutch in order to start the car, but perhaps there is a bypass to that..? I'd love to be able to, say, hold the PANIC button for 5 seconds, and have my TL come to life.

Anyone?

I've had friends with remote starts on their manual cars.

You'll need either an extra key or you can buy a device that transmits your immobilizer code.

I'm pretty sure your Stock FOB will not work with the remote starter, it'll come with its own.

Also, NEVER, EVER remote start your car when you left it in gear.

I did a search, thanks for your replies.

And, umm, yes, I think it would be best not leaving the car in gear, then remote starting it.

Thats not true at all. I put a remote start in my past car 2000 civic si and my roommate at the time had moved my car and never told me. I never left it in gear. Went out to the car, hit the start buttons on the remote and off it went right into the side of the house. I hit the buttons again and it shut off but it did some damage to the rear quarter panel. I would advise against this if you have a stick. Not worth it if an accident happens. If your car kills anyone, you will be liable for what happens. Not worth it!

^ yup

clutch bypass is real easy for remote start... god forbid the car is in gear, it can and will hop, jump and shoot like 100ft up the road or more....

very easy to install though, and i know people with it. just be careful... and maybe, put a little sticker by the gearbox that says DO NOT LEAVE IN GEAR... lol
