Remote start

So I am taking the plunge and buying the TL. I got the car I want for the lease price I want so I am very happy.

Now there are only threemods that I HAVE to do to this car:

Remote Start

I've had remote start for year, I love it and I need it.

So has anyone installed a remote start in their TL yet? I"ve always done the installations myself using DEI sheets, but the TL seems like it might gimme a hard time with the immobilizer.

You have to essentially disable your immobilizer.
So if your car gets stolen don't come here to complain ;-)

From what I read you do not have to disable the immobilizer, Honda makes a $40 module.

And no, if I wouldn't come here to complain, but thanks for letting me know

AcuraTLjaTT559, thanks for the tip, I found some good info in one of his threads

I had mine installed by the dealer and it works with the factory remote FOB.

Now that's a nice feature, you get to retain the "memories" as well as the ability to lower the windows. I assume you have to hit "Lock-unlock-lock" to start your car?

The only problem with using the factory remote is that it doesn't have that long of a range.

I have no idea who makes mine... Prestige maybe? They gave me a new keyfob and I was like, "oh hell no," because it was the disgusting, fat, green carbon fiber keyfob. I could have spent a little more and gotten that one with the LCD readout but I had them take the part that needed the fob out and let me use my fob. I just hit lock 3 times and it starts. Can even hit unlock right after the 3rd lock to unlock the drivers door before the car starts so I don't have to use the keyhole
