Redline Goods armrest cover

After 8 years and 115,000 miles my armrest cover is about as comfortable as a cinderblock. I am going to order a new cover from redline goods but I'm not too sure what the best match will be. I have a Type-S with the taupe interior, I reached out to redline and they suggested taupe would be the best match (makes sense). However, I am wondering if any members with the taupe interior have purchased one of these and have any pics. I'm not sold on the pics they have, and I'm extremely OCD about everything matching.

Can't speak about redline covers, but I went with Dallas Custom Wheels for my steering wheel and arm rest. Extremely high quality work! Look through my progress thread for pictures. You send them your lid and they cover it professionally using high quality leather. I would recommend going that route instead of a one size fits all and hope it matches and fits good kinda way.
Since you say your extremely picky like myself you might want to take my advice. Price isn't too bad for just the console.

To be honest I purposely stay away from your thread so I don't drop 5 bills on a steering wheel lol. That thing is beautiful and I probably will crack and do it soon. Did they provide a steering wheel or did you have to purchase one and ship it to them?

I have a Redline Goods cover and am very satified with it- it's cut to the proper size of the hatch cover and the only downside is that you need to either install it yourself or get it installed. I know the Dallas products are top notch, but they would be likely a lot more cash. I had a local auto upholstery shop install my hatch cover for $40 (I left it with them and just had to reinstall the screws to hold it in place, but they glued the cover on).

The only problem with color matching, no matter who is supplying the leather, is that since your interior and any aftermarket leather items are not from the same dye lot, it might be difficult for it to be an exact match- that said, the Redline cover does come in a taupe color according to their color chart.

Is the cover still in good shape? If so you could just replace the foam and keep the original cover. I did that and it turned out great. There's a DIY on here somewhere...

Unfortunately the answer is no. The leather has seen its day, there is no saving it. Ive cleaned it but it still looks like garbage.

Yeah I hear you, it's expensive stuff but I think it was worth it. You could always do just the arm rest cover and maybe down the road do the wheel and you know it will be a perfect match. The arm rest cover will run you about $200. As for the steering wheel they had it in stock so there is no down time. If you send yours back when done they give you 15 bucks back. I sold mine myself for $100 :-) The downside to that is I found no two steering wheels are identical and the teeth won't line up exactly as your original came off...meaning your wheel will likely be a tad off center and you'll need to get an alignment to center the wheel perfectly again. If you use your existing wheel you know it can go back on exactly like before and you won't need an alignment. So keep that in mind!

Good info, if I use my existing wheel I wont be able to get to work and that seems like a bigger problem then it not lining up correctly. I'll have to reach out to them and see what they can do, it is tax season so its the perfect time to make bad financial decisions.

OP, I have all of the sample swatches from Redline, they're yours if you want them. I have an 07 base and I'm 99% sure their taupe color is the closest match for me (need to double check one last time before placing my order).

If you want them PM me your address and I'll get them in the mail this week, no charge. Just keep this going if someone else wants them once you're done with them.

BTW, it looks like they have free shipping and 15% off (using promo taxrefunds2015) through the end of the month.

OP...I didn't buy the taupe one from Redline, I had an ebony interior, WDP exterior. I bought a black one with with white side panels and it looked great and was very comfortable. They have made a bunch of these for TLs so I would trust the color match and like was said above, they'll send you color swatches.

Follow-up to my post above, I ended up ordering the taupe color. It came down to the same 3 options as CLtotheTL shows in his thread.
