Recommendations for hail damage

Two sundays ago, there was a brief hail storm. Anyways, today I went to progressive and they cut me a check for ~$7,600.00. They said I had to replace the hood, trunk and roof. I was surprised when they said roof as I was not aware of being able to replace it. What would you guys do in terms of getting it fixed? Is there such a thing as hail being too severe where PDR guys can't fix it? The biggest dents are the size of a golf ball. Any insight is appreciated.

I'd try something like dent doctor first. Get a estimate and see what they say. Might save some money.

take to high end body shop for estimate. they may have a higher estimate and you can receive the additional $ from insurance. with that in hand explore the PDR options and see if you may find that an acceptable option, it will be less $. Some would say going for the cheaper fix and pocketing the difference is insurance fraud, I am not one of those people.

buy a new hood and trunk (cheaper than repairing it) and just get the roof repair; just shop around different body shops and get qoutes.

Friend of ours has 2 shops in Dallas area and they replace hail damaged parts quite often, including the roof. Many are brand new cars that have been damaged while sitting in inventory.

Just an idea of the cost for parts:
62100-SEP-A21ZZ PANEL, ROOF 001 2006 TL 1236.89 927.67
68500-SEP-A92ZZ LID, TRUNK (DOT) 001 2006 TL 679.73 509.80
60100-SEP-A90ZZ HOOD, ENGINE (DOT) 2006 TL 624.93 468.70

If there is an yard near you, you can get the used parts for about $800 for all 3 and go from there.

I'd take it to a PDR and see what they say, but if damage is too severe, replacement parts are the way to go.

the roof can get pricey so just make sure you get a good quote.
I had another car dropped on my tl during transport that left a massive dent next to the sunroof and pushed the sunroof down a bit. Got the roof fixed recently but my sunroof still sits low.

Hail Damage? ouch man. My suggestions would be to take these steps:

1) Find Mother nature
2) Shoot Mother nature in knee cap
3) Get TL repaired.
**Note if unable to do steps 1 and 2, go in to the middle of any yard and yell "F*&K You" at no one in particular and then get TL repaired.**

PDR can get expensive, that is why they said to just replace the worst areas. I'm sure they will probably PDR any spots on columns/fenders too in order to completely restore the car. I would just let them fully fix it if your TL is still worth a good amount, otherwise your resale value my suffer and it may be more difficult to sell eventually.

My previous TL was totaled by hail last spring, so it could be worse...if it had not been totaled, I would have just replaced the hood and PDR the biggest remaining spots. They said PDR could do 2-3 dents for around $100, so depending on the # of dents, that is why it is just cheaper to replace easy-to-remove panels.
