Rebuild Brembo Caliper?
Hey guys, i saw a few brembo calipers on e-bay last week... from a price point.. it sounds sweet...
anyone.. this guy posted up a pair of Acura Brembo Caliper from a 05 6mt... i am wonder.. if i get it.. should i order the piston kit and rebuild it first before using it? the seller didn't mention any mileage...

you need way more parts than the calipers to do that swap!!!- different steering knuckles- different rims to clear the bigger 1 inch larger diameter rotors and bigger calipers--thats just to start
May require different abs settings etc
I see youy already have RB rotors- maybe try their et500 pads with their rotors

All Stock TL wheels will clear. So will the RJ's, I *think*.
Still gotta deal with all the other stuff though. I think I've read it's about $1200 in parts.

hmmm maybe gen3 wheels clear- I know I read about the rims not fitting with the larger diameter rotors
Josh at Excelerate wouyld be the expert on this matter- he knows brmbos and swaps of parts for the job.
Usually he suggest Wilwood brakes BBK kit instead for the similar overall cost- they have 6 pistons instead of 4- even better braking force then!

Try and search for brembo caliper on the TL 3rd gen forums; there was a specific thread on this. But you will need more than the calipers. You will need the knuckle, calipers, rotors, lines, etc. I think the total cost came out to around $1300-$1500. For that price you could get a ROTORA 13" disc with a 4 piston caliper which also comes with stainless steel lines, a better pad, and drilled/slotted or slotted discs.
In terms of the wheel, yes the OE wheel will clear since the same wheel is used on the A/T and M/T TL's.

Ok, you need
knuckles, calipers, rotors, pads, abs sensors and 2 parts of the brake lines (acura calls them "pipes")
BUUT
DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT rebuild these calipers. Acura clearly states in their service manual NOT TO DO IT.. believe, ive looked into it
granted, it CAN be done, i still would not do it. brakes are important
if you purchase all the parts from new OemAcuraParts.com or AcuraOEMparts.com the total cost should be right around $1300....
for that kinda money, i would get an aftermarket kit, since its "flashier" but seem people really enjoy OEM reliability.

one of the reason i am look at the oem brembo.. is because.. itz what honda used on track... =)
and one funny thing.. in Canada... the brake pads are so much cheaper... than non brembo.. 68CAD a set... =) good savings in the long run! and knowing that other oem brembo will fit =) EVEN BETTER
