Rear Name Badges

I was wondering... Has anyone considered removing the ACURA and TL name badges from the trunk? I think it looks much better...what do you think?

a lot of people have debadged their cars. I would suggest leaving the Acura symbol on, since that is drilled into the trunk. But the Acura (name) and TL are on with glue, so, it is easily removeable. I like the look personally... looks cleaner (which is why I did it).

Yeah, referred to as Debadged or Debadging. Search using those terms and you will see lots of existing threads including tips and tricks on how to do it yourself.

With the 04 Tl debadging looks hella weird since it has that wonderful "Acura" stamp on the front bumper....

I took the Acura and TL badges off for a while, but then I put them back on.

I just decided it looked better with them on, and I am proud of my TL and this lets people know what that car is that is looking so good.

Ron A, how did you put it back? What kind of glue or adhesive you put on?

I haven't seen too many ppl mentioning this...

Thanks.

I have some Kent Industries black double-sticky molding tape, about 1" wide, but you can probably find tape that does the same thing in parts stores or auto body shop suppliers. There may even be something better available, but I didn't look for it. Make sure to get tape specifically for moldings, so it isn't too thin, because the spaces in the back of the moldings are recessed a little bit.

I had to cut the tape into pieces that fit in the spaces in the back of the moldings, but once it is on the car you can't even tell it is little pieces instead of the original thing. The black tape does not show, even on my WDP car (I'll throw that in before someone asks the question).

I removed all badges on the back of my NBP. I personally think it looks much cleaner.

I agree that looks pretty plain, but put a license plate on that and see if your opinion changes. I'm thinking of removing mine not for the looks, but just because they are a pain in the butt to wax around.

2nd Gen TL's look cool without any names becasue the license plate portion is at the bumper leaving a huge space at the trunk. Their unique rear end makes that possible.

My title was abbreviated by someone. I originally requested 'Team Anthracite, VP, Racing Division' which sounds better to me. I think the whole Team Anthracite thing has run its course. I'll be changing my signature.

Mine's here. Much easier to wax without 'em.
