Question Rear Deck Level

I've got an '05 TL stock, and when I looked though my rear-view mirror out the back window, I noticed a non-symmetry around the center speaker. Upon closer inspection, I confirmed my obeservation. From the back seat looking back, the right side of the rear deck, just right of the center speaker is higher than the left side of the speaker.

Is this normal? Do any of you other guys see this?

Thanks!

It is normal and is a potential cause of the deck rattle. You can easily level it with some foam pads. See the 3G Garage under the "rear deck rattle" section.

Not to start any kind of arguement here........ I had the same problem with my '04. It took about three trips to the dealer to convince him it wasn't right. The final trip was with the damn thing in my hands! I took it out to do the A-spec suspension. They finally ordered a replacement, and what do you know. It's perfectly level now. It is a little tricky getting all of the plastic clips to align perfect, but when it's all done, it looks level. It looked like the original was somehow warped. I had to give it back to them so they could get paid for it. I looked at about four other cars on the lot, and two were level, while the other two were messed up. I hate to be anal about things like this, but it sure bothered me seeing that everytime I looked in the rear view mirror.
Have a look at the other TL's on the lot and see what they look like. I'm sure many folks just live with it. I couldn't. Sorry, just my

Thanks KBOM! It bothers the heck out of me too, even when I don't see it out the rear-view. I find myself consciously trying to avoid looking for it because I know it's there. That's not something I want to do for the rest of the time I own this car.

I stumbled on another thread https://acurazine.com/forums/ramblings-12/reminds-me-some-yous-65409/ which shows that many people have this problem, and many people have had their dealer replace the rear deck panel.

I will definitely bring this up the next time I take the car in for service.
